Sanjanaa was the "new girl" at work and Shreyas was asked to give her a tour of the facility. Shreyas turned on the charm but to no avail, safe to say no 'digits' or 'Instagram handle' was secured that day. Cut to 2 weeks later at a work happy hour, Shreyas hears someone say "Is this seat taken?" Now this is a point of debate we will never know the answer to... Sanjanaa swears that was the only seat available, Shreyas could have sworn there were multiple seats but she just chose to find the seat next to him... I guess we'll never know. The rest as they say is history.
As their love for one another grew, so did their desire to explore new foods, places, and cultures. Shreyas' fondness for Asian cuisine spawned their trips around Orange County to try every Ramen, Sushi, Soondubu, and Thai restaurant in the area. It even led them to go on a very special trip later on in their relationship...
They spent their weekends enjoying all the beauty that California had to offer. They loved going on beachside hikes in Newport, perusing the farmers market, and Saturday morning hot yoga sessions.
Their relationship blossomed as they made many trips back to the East Coast where many of their childhood friends and family lived. Their worlds collided when they discovered that both of their best friends lived on the same street in NJ. It was amazing to introduce each other to their tight-knit community of friends and family across the States.
Sanjanaa and Shreyas' love for Asian culture took them to Japan where Shreyas had more than just ramen on the itinerary. The ruse was Shreyas' birthday trip, but little did Sanjanaa know that he had planned the perfect proposal. Shreyas took Sanjanaa to an old temple in Tokyo where he had a photographer posed as a tourist waiting to capture the moment. He caught Sanjanaa by complete surprise when he got down on one knee and asked, "Will you marry me?" It took Sanjanaa a few seconds (...which felt like an eternity to Shreyas) to take in the moment, so much so she started quivering, but finally she responded resoundingly..."YES!" The proposal was followed up by a photo shoot across multiple locations capturing the beauty of Tokyo in the most Sanjanaa'esque fashion... safe to say "Shreyas understood the assignment". #SanjSaidYas
