Detroit has one main airport, Detroit Metro Airport (DTW).

You can rent a car (approximately $30 per day) or hire a taxi/van at the airport.

If you decide to rent a car, most major car rental companies are available at the Detroit airports. Renting a car is fairly easy and is the most convenient way to explore  the city,

Most of the well-known car rental companies can be found at the Airport and in the cities. Local companies offer competitive prices and great service.

Things to Do

Detroit holds its secrets well, and its citizens hold them even tighter; anyone who tells you there’s nothing to do either didn’t bother looking, or they’re leading you astray.

Here are a couple of my top picks :

1. Detroit RiverFront Conservatory

The Detroit Riverwalk is a front yard and a back yard for our Detroit family. We see people of all ages walk by or ride by. The Milliken State Park Lighthouse stands watch to inspire visitors .Another thing I love about the Riverfront is the variety of activities through the year.Detroit Riverwalk is known as a “world-class gathering place for all.” And I can attest. I’ve experienced it. It’s one of the crown jewels of Detroit and can only be experienced.

2. GM Ren Cen

Well, they don't call it Motor city for no reason.  Owned by General Motors gives you an experience of the Automotive history.

3. Henry Ford Museum

Speaking of history, Did you know all the vehicles of every President of the United States are from our city. I definitely recommend the gallery of all the Vehicles owned by Presidents and also the Rosa parks bus. You will feel the rich automobile culture the moment you step in.
