There are so many fun things to do around Toronto!
For those of you who have not been here before, we thought we would share some of our fun activities and our favourite places to eat!
Feel free to ask us if you need any additional insights during your stay!
If you want to travel to downtown we recommend taking the GO Train / Bus. Driving downtown can take time during the summer. Usually there is a lot of traffic to and from the city, and finding parking can get difficult.
Every GO Station has a parking lot where you can park your car, (overnight included for most) and make your way downtown.
Here are some of our favourite local activities in Toronto:
St. Lawrence Market: This is a major public market in Toronto and is a must-visit for any foodie in Toronto
Kensington Market: This is a walkable bohemian neighbourhood that draws artists and tourists to its indie shops, vintage boutiques and arts spaces
Ripleys Aquarium: This one is great for kids! If you want to check out a giant aquarium with all kinds of sea creatures - this is the place to go! Its also right beside the CN tower so you can get some good snaps of that too!
Graffiti Alley: If you are walking around the city, this is a great route to pass through. The name is says it all - its long alley with graffiti / murals along the way!
Here are some of our favourite restaurants to check out:
Pai - Great place to enjoy some Thai food!
Kinka Izakaya - A fun and loud place to enjoy Japanese tapas
Byblos - A little more on the pricier side - but one of our favourites! Try a great a contemporary spin on Eastern Mediterranean cuisine
La Carnita - If you are in the mood for tacos - this is a standard for us!
Lee – by Susur Lee - Balancing the epicurean traditions of China with the classical techniques of French cuisines
Oakville is a smaller suburban city outside of Toronto. Here are a few of the fun things to do in Oakville:
Dave & Busters - this is the Chuck-e-cheese for adults! A mix of food and arcades. For those of you staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Oakville, this is a very close by!
Cineplex Cinemas Winston Churchill - if you're in for a movie, this place is full of different restaurants and activities. For those of you staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, in Oakville, this is a very close by!
Walk by Oakville or Burlington Waterfront - if you go south towards the lake, there are plenty of parks and trails to stroll through!
Aerosports Trampoline Park - this a fun place to jump around with the kids (and adults!)
