Preparation
Passport: Most travellers into the Philippines enjoy visa-free entries of up to 30 days. As always, ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months before your travels!
Digital Arrival Card: there is always some arrival card to fill out before we go through the immigration queue. The arrival card is digitised, and you do that through an app.
Download the eTravel app, and fill in your details within 72 hours but not less than 3 hours of your departure for the Philippines.
The app will generate a QR code that you can either screenshot or have it sent to your email. For entry card application online, go to: etravel.gov.ph/
Cash+ Cards
Money: Cash is still the king in the Philippines. Major credit cards accepted but always have cash in hand as needed. For a week-long travel to Cebu, budget enough cash to bring over for your small trips, shopping, food and transport. Debit & CREDIT CARDS should have international access to the ATM's here w/"VISA" sign
You may exchange for pesos using USD or GBP with the money exchangers. Bank ATM's are accessible in and around the city.
What to do in CEBU
If there’s one thing you should do in Cebu City, it’s enjoy a lechon (because it’s the best you’ll find) & visit the oldest church in the Philippines.
Upon arrival in Cebu and after claiming your luggage, you can purchase your mobile data plans in any if the mobile telecoms counter namely: GLOBE or SMART within the airport arrival area. (NOTE)..Its best to have a second mobile phone for your travels while keeping your original home phone with you.
LUGGAGE PORTER FEES In the baggage claim area, call a porter to assist you in getting your luggage all the way to the taxi stand. Porter Fee=₱100.00
TAXIS Metered taxis are mostly white colored cars (4pax max) while the black colored cars have a bigger capacity (6-7pax max)
OTHER TRANSPORT After getting your temporary mobile no. you can get the GRAB App. (similar to UBER) for call taxi service.
Travelling within Cebu
1)Walking - (NOTE) when crossing a 2-way street, look LEFT first for oncoming traffic, then RIGHT. Its the LEFT-HAND driving system in the Phils.
Walking is possible in the shopping mall areas unless the attractions are beyond a reasonable walking distance.
