Robyn is the main reason I moved back to the Midwest. I would visit her as much as I could, to make sure I could be a part of her son's life. Of course, it was party time once he went to bed. We'd stay up late talking about random shenanigans or watching Days of Our Lives. After Rox left New York, it made sense to move back closer to home. Now, she's only a drive away! I visit often and love the time we get to bond. She will be an important part of our wedding and ultimate supporter for my relationship with Adam.
My sisters, both, are responsible for parts of who I am today. I love them both so much; I wasn't going to choose between them for Matron of Honor.
Rox is the main reason I moved to New York. She took the extra time and thought I would get the most out of my college years at Polytechnic in Brooklyn -- she was right. I would visit her for dinner and learn from her experimental ways to cook. Other days, we would play video games until we ran out of Popsicles (they help, I swear). She has been a great supporter for me and kept me sane when I needed to escape from school.
She's given me the opportunity to support her as well. I went from walking across Brooklyn Bridge for marriage equality, with her and Adriana, to being a witness for their wedding on the roof of their apartment complex. Now, she will be an important part of our wedding and ultimate supporter for my relationship with Adam.
I met Erika in New York City; she just moved there with her sister and I was starting my second year of college. We were next to each other, in line for SNL standby tickets. We were all not prepared for the never-ending rain. I asked her sister if she would hold my spot in line while her and I go get a camping chair. Within that short trip to the store, we knew we would be friends.
What we didn't know is how great of friends we would become. I spent the rest of my years, in New York, spending time with Erika and Kam -- waiting in line for SNL tickets, watching/playing clue, drinking at Hurley's till they closed, etc. Erika and I have not been living near each other in years but have kept in touch. She visited Iowa to go to the Ohio/Iowa football game with Adam and I. We've met up in Chicago several times. It's great to have a friend that I can not talk to for months and feel like nothing has changed.
This is my baby girl. She came into my life in October 2015. I was just supposed to foster her but, within my first week with her, I knew she had to be mine! She has enriched my life so much. We run frequently together and play fetch near the water (the only way she'll play fetch). She has turned into quite the nanny dog as she loves my niece and nephews; she instantly perks up if I mention their names.
She absolutely adores Adam. When we started dating, I would bring Keely over to run around with Kally. I'd eventually leave to go back to my apartment. She stubbornly would not move to get into the car, every time. I would physically pick her up to take her home (55 lbs). She knew she was home, before Adam and I did.
