In 2021, Ruchika and Jeremy met the old fashioned way- on a mobile dating app. Jeremy remembers liking Ruchika's profile one morning and anxiously checking his phone throughout the day to see if she liked him back. Thankfully, she did.
The couple met for their first date about a week later. On a cold Sunday afternoon, Ruchika and Jeremy drank old fashioneds at the Lytle Park Hotel lobby bar. By the time the second round concluded, their conversation had covered all of the important topics: politics, family, work, hobbies, and of course, food. Ruchika offered to drive Jeremy back to his downtown apartment at the end of the date, an offer he accepted under the guise of avoiding a frigid walk home, when really, he just wanted the date to last a few more minutes.
The couple made plans that evening for a second date. Flowers arrived on Ruchika's porch a few days later.
One of the many reasons Ruchika and Jeremy love spending time together is they share a favorite hobby: playing tennis.
During the summer, the couple play several times each week at the Cincinnati Tennis Club. Ruchika has belonged to CTC for a couple of years. Jeremy is extremely grateful she introduced him to the club early in their relationship. They are each other's favorite doubles partner.
Ruchika and Jeremy enjoy playing with each other in club tournaments. They are pictured here after winning their division at "Rose on Clay," a summer event Ruchika helped organize to support a local non-profit organization focused on making tennis accessible to youth in the community.
Jeremy and Ruchi love Cincinnati. The city offers plenty to do, eat, drink, and see while maintaining a small town feel.
Jeremy and Ruchi both lived downtown for many years. In 2020, Ruchi bought a house in Oakley, a city neighborhood a few miles north of downtown. Jeremy eventually moved out of his downtown apartment and in with Ruchi and Violet. Violet--who enjoys chasing lizards in the backyard and playing with her best friend Roger next door--is happy with "suburban" life.
Violet is the heartbeat of Ruchi and Jeremy's home. She keeps the couple on their toes with her busy social life. She goes to work with mom three days each week where she comforts and entertains mom's patients. Violet has lots of (human and four-legged) friends and is the life of the party. She enjoys snuggling on the couch and taking walks around Oakley; she dislikes celery and spinach.
The couple celebrated their first New Year together in Cabo Mexico. Their first international trip had some speedbumps-Jeremy and Ruchika had to make an unexpected 24-hour pit-stop in frigid Salt Lake City, and their luggage did not arrive in Mexico until several days later. But after getting some tacos, margaritas, and gift-shop clothes, they had an amazing time. Jeremy and Ruchi enjoy going traveling to new places and have goals to travel internationally each year.
Spending time with family is important to Jeremy and Ruchi. They enjoy visiting with Jeremy's family at their condo in Lakeside, Ohio (pictured) and with Ruchika's family in Detroit.
This couple never says no to a good party. They both work hard during the week and enjoy having fun on their days off. Ruchika impressed Jeremy with her party-planning skills early on when she threw a neon-themed party at her house, which was filled with friends, a couple of kegs, and a food truck.
When the weekend parties are over Jeremy and Ruchi are back to work on Monday mornings. Jeremy is a graduate of Notre Dame Law School and practices law at Dinsmore & Shohl. Ruchi graduated from The University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry; she has run her own dental practice since 2009.
Ruchi and Jeremy take their professional lives seriously and are extremely supportive towards each others' goals and aspirations.
Jeremy and Ruchi traveled to Key West in September 2022. The trip was filled with riding bikes, relaxing by the pool, and lots of good food.
Jeremy and Ruchika love autumn. They are partial to the weather, pumpkin beers, football season, and the beautiful changing of colors. Now they have a new reason to love the fall: Jeremy proposed to Ruchika on October 9, 2022, in Eden Park.
