When we first met in 2014, Ruba was showing Ibrahim around Montreal and we went to Montreal's lookout point. FYI Ibrahim slept the whole ride there.
Day after day, we continued to face Canada's cold weather together, at days reaching -40C, at which time we decided to take a walk under the snow.
Going on our first date, we literally accidentally matched clothes.
Birthday after birthday, we lit candles and celebrated together.
One of our first trips together, we drove to New York City where Ruba insisted to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
After finishing his PhD, Ibrahim moved to Tampa to start a postdoctoral fellowship, but Ruba had to stay behind to finish her PhD. It's been tough.
