Pre-Wedding Gathering

Super casual gathering for drinks at the Brilliant Meses outdoor terrace.

The terrace belongs to the hotel where most of our International guests will stay.

It would be great to see you there from 6 pm onwards.

Morning Of The Wedding

Romanian Wedding Traditions

The morning of the wedding usually starts with considerable noise and excitement. Traditionally, gypsy musicians would appear at the groom’s house to wake up the entire neighborhood. The idea is to announce to everyone within earshot that an important wedding is taking place that day.

This exciting beginning kicks off the journey of the groom that could lead him all over the city. This journey springs from traditional roots in the village, where the groom-to-be would travel from house to house accompanied by musicians. The entourage would grow as each neighbor then accompanied the young man through the village until he arrived at the young woman’s house, where he would ask her family for her hand in marriage.

This is the Romanian tradition but in our case, we will adopt a hybridized variation :)

James, together with his Godparents, Family, and Friends accompanied by the wedding coordinator and his team will collect the bride from her parent's house.

Depending on the number of guests desiring to participate in this event, minivans will be hired for transportation.

Bride’s Home

The next destination is the bride’s home, where her family and Godmother have helped her to dress for the wedding.

The groom arrives at the bride’s home together with his Godparents, Family, and Friends.

The musicians are singing traditional wedding songs - eg "Dear bride say farewell to your mom and dad" etc… In Earlier days the groom was up on a horse, now a car will do :)

The guests will be invited to taste some traditional Romanian food prepared by the bride's family.

Photographer will be present to take some group photos.

Religious Ceremony

The wedding party reaches the church, where the priest will perform the religious ceremony which involves circling the altar for 3 times with a silver crown on both the bride and groom's heads, bride and groom tie their hands together.

Both pairs of Godparents will perform the religious ritual together with the newly formed couple.

We are doing our best to organize the ceremony in English and Romanian. The church is a small rural church and most probably the priest hasn't preached in English before but he will do his best to keep both sides involved.

Brilliant Parc - Belvedere Room (first floor)

Upon arrival, the bride and the groom will be announced and a toast will be offered.

Traditionally the couple will throw their Champagne flutes to the ground. If the glass breaks, it is said to bring good luck to the couple. Other theories say the breaking of the glass symbolizes the irreversible change in the lives of the newlyweds, with a commitment as unchangeable as the breaking of the glass.

Food and drinks will be served for the entire length of the wedding party, so make sure you leave some room for the wedding cake.

The seating arrangement will be kept the same for the length of the party.

Music will be on for the entire party. Once the first dance is done, you are all invited to dance and make sure you have plenty of fun.

Farewell Brunch

Farewell Brunch

After all the excitement from the day prior, we’ll love to mingle with the guests and say goodbye to those who traveled near and far to celebrate our special occasion.

The wedding day is packed with overwhelming joy and excitement, and we are aware will not be possible for us to spend time with everyone. This event will allow us to do just that, all while reveling in the prior night's festivities.
