We might be a little biased, but we think Bellingham is the perfect spot for your summer getaway! Head north and you’ll find vibrant Vancouver, BC; look east to see majestic Mt. Baker and the endless trails and jaw-dropping views of North Cascades National Park. South takes you to bustling Seattle, and to the west you’ll discover the sparkling waters of the Salish Sea and the stunning San Juan Islands.

Whether you’re into water sports, mountain biking (Bellingham is ranked among the best in the world!), or simply soaking up beautiful scenery, you’ll find it all here. We can’t wait to show off our hometown—and we’re happy to answer any questions as you plan your trip.

Flying to Bellingham

There are several airports to choose from:

BLI - Bellingham International is served by Alaska Air and Allegiant

PAE - Seattle/Everett is a great choice as it's an hour from Bellingham and has more flights

SEA - About 1 hour 45 minutes away as the crow flies, but summer traffic is no joke, so popular times can be well over 2 hours

YVR - Vancouver, BC CANADA is only an hour away. Flying into Canada is easy and so are car rentals. Wait times crossing the border can be around an hour at popular times.

Accommodations

Hotel Bellwether

For our bougie guests, you’ll be right at home at the perfectly perched Hotel Bellwether. We have a block of rooms reserved with both mountain and water view. You can either make your reservation online and then call the front desk to apply the discount, or simply call the front desk for the reservation. $339 / Mountain view, $449 / Ocean view. Refer to it as the Russ Wedding and ask for Trevor if there is any confusion.

Another Gem

The Chrysalis Inn & Spa Bellingham

This hotel is in one of the best areas for strolling, with incredible views all around. It does sit along a railroad line, but good news—the train whistles are a thing of the past in Bellingham, so it’s much quieter now than it used to be.

Adorable and Affordable

Heliotrope Hotel

It may be on a busy road and away from the tourist buzz, but this charming little hotel is a great, budget-friendly choice.
