FAQs

I have never attended an Indian Wedding before - what should I expect?

Indian weddings are very energetic and fun. Overall, you can expect lots of color, food, and dancing.

Do I need to wear Indian clothes to any/all events?

There are several different types of Indian outfits, and there no specific requirements for what types of outfits should be worn to which events. In addition, guests are certainly not expected to wear Indian attire.

I would really like to wear Indian attire - what items should I be looking for?

For women, you can look for a Lehenga (a short blouse + long, high waisted skirt) or a Salwar Kameez/Anarkali/Kurta Set (different terms for a long dress + leggings). Many people enjoy wearing lehengas because the long skirt is very fun and pretty when you dance. Saris are also a beautiful option, but they are much more difficult to put on and will definitely require some help for first-timers.
For men, you will be looking for a Kurta, Sherwani, or Jodhpur suit. They are all sets of a fitted top and pants.

Is there a room block?

Yes! Please click the link below to reserve your room today. We can't wait to celebrate with you.

What type of cuisine will be served at the events?

There will be both Indian and non-Indian cuisine at each event. Please reach out if you have any food allergies.

Are there any colors I should avoid?

We kindly recommend that you avoid wearing black, red, or white to the Mehendi, Sangeet, and Indian ceremony. For the reception, anything is fair game as this will be a black-tie event.

What exactly is the Sangeet event?

The word "Sangeet" literally translates to "music," and the term is used to describe the large event the night prior to the wedding. This is a colorful and musical evening with lots of dancing. Dinner is typically served in an informal fashion.

What is the Baraat?

The Baraat is the procession of the groom prior to the ceremony beginning. It's about 30 minutes and a huge blast. This is for all family and friends of the groom, as well as anyone else who is interested in participating.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Luckily, we have the hotel room block at the Marriott right across the street from the Four Seasons venue. If there any specific accommodations, please let us know. If you are planning to stay elsewhere, Uber and Lyft would be your next best option.

What is an unplugged ceremony?

We kindly ask that phones and cameras be turned off during both ceremonies. We have an amazing photographer that will be a part of the weekend and we promise to share all the photos on the website as soon as they are available to us.

Can I bring a plus one?

We regretfully ask our guests to please not bring a plus one, unless they are specifically named on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!

Are kids allowed at the wedding?

While we love all your little ones, we regretfully ask our guests to please not bring them, unless "and family" is specifically listed on the invitation. Thank you so much for understanding!
