Hit the Links!

For the golfers among us, we have reserved a limited number of tee times on Saturday morning between 8:30 and 10:00 am at the Otesaga's beautiful Leatherstocking Golf Course. There will be a friendly competition and small prizes.

Because we need to firm up our reservations with the resort, if you want to play please email David Aronson (the father of the Groom) at Aronson@amsllp.com. If you wish to be paired with someone, tell us who. Finally, if you have a USGA index, tell us what it is and, if not, let us know if your average score is a) 90 or below; b) 91-100; c) 101-110; or d) more than 110.

Although you need not have a low handicap to sign up, this is an outing for experienced golfers and not novices.

Things to Do

National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum

As hallowed as the game it represents, the National Baseball Hall of Fame is an iconic fixture of Cooperstown and one of the sports world's most famous attractions. Drawing over 300,000 annual visitors, this non-profit educational institution features interactive exhibits, special events and digitally-enhanced multimedia presentations, along with classic radio broadcasts, newspaper stories and televised games that allow you to relive baseball's classic moments. It also provides activities for young fans to help foster a deeper appreciation of the sport and its place in our nation's history. NOTE: We'll be hosting an event on Saturday evening which will include dinner in the Hall itself and free access to the museum.

Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard

A personal favorite of Vannie and Reid, situated along the banks of Fly Creek, this historic, water-powered cider mill has been an iconic Cooperstown attraction for over 150 years. Book a tour and sample over 40 specialty foods, including extra-sharp, Mill-aged cheddar cheese, fudge, salsa, hard ciders and apples wines. Enjoy a number of outdoor activities and enjoy a farm-fresh lunch in an enchanting atmosphere that brings the past alive.

Golf at the Leatherstocking

Located right at the Otesaga, with striking views and several challenging holes, Leatherstocking is one of the East's premier resort golf courses.

The father of the groom will be hosting an outing for experienced golfers on Saturday morning, Please check the "Events" page of the website for more details.

Farmer's Museum

Don't let the name fool you; the Farmer's Museum is a really fun time. Enjoy exhibits, hand-on activities, craft demonstrations and character tours, as you watch the mid-19th Century come to life. Plus, an awesome carousel.

Shopping in Cooperstown Village

Downtown Cooperstown (just a five minute walk from the Otesaga) is home to many charming shops full of antiques and collectibles. Baseball gifts abound at local shops that highlight the history and traditions of America's favorite pastime. You can browse for authentic autographed memorabilia, official team jerseys, and old-time baseball hats that you won't find anywhere else.

Ommegang Brewery Tour

With award-winning beers and offering tours beginning every hour, this Belgian-style brewery is a world-renowned attraction.

Cooperstown Distillery Tours and Tastings

For those who prefer spirits to brewskis, the Cooperstown Distillery, on Main Street, offers a "field to flask" experience. Enjoy tastings, distiller-led tours and an enticing retail shop, featuring an eclectic mix of bitters, gift items and cocktail accessories. If you have an appreciation for handcrafted artisanal spirits, this local attraction is a can't-miss.

Take a Dip in the Otesaga's Heated Pool

The pool at the Otesaga is open until December, so even if it's a bit nippy out, doesn't mean you can't have some fun in the water!

Fenimore Art Museum

Tour a rich collection of artwork, while enjoying a fascinating glimpse into mid-1700 American Indian life.

Middlefield Orchard Fruit Picking

With more than 10,000 cherry, pear, peach and apple trees dotting its landscape, Middlefield Orchard provides an alluring assortment of fresh fruit and family-fun activities. The orchard's numerous dwarf trees make harvesting easy for both children and adults. Middlefield also provides freshly-picked blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, vegetables and a pumpkin patch hunt that's become one of the area's most popular fall attractions.
