We bonded during our first ever "class night", mostly about how we were so homesick and how much we missed our moms. Call it "lukso ng dugo" but I was right to be so obnoxious about claiming Mike as my best friend.

As third grade class president, it was my job to inform our new transferee classmate, Tim, that on the first Fridays of the month, we Ateneo gradeschoolers have to wear our Gala Uniforms for mass. It's been my gift to be in Tim's life and to watch him grow from my timid third grade classmate to the boss with the meanest 'fits. Cheers to you, Mr. Ng!

I always found it odd that Mico, then a transferee to Ateneo and my new high school classmate, stared at me as I twirled my pens in class. I was proud to see him finally get the hang of twirling pens a few months later. He's always been a quick study, sharp and with depth.
