It's time to party!

“Sangeet “ is a celebratory event during an Indian wedding that translates to Music Night or Musical party.

Dance performances by friends & family (this may be you!) are followed by an open dance floor with a DJ.

Dinner is Indian Fusion, cocktails all night long.

Attire

Cocktail attire. For men this would be a suit/tuxedo or a Bandhgala. For women this would be a lehenga or gown.

CEREMONY

We welcome you to our Indian wedding!

5:30 pm: Baraatis assemble for Safa-tying (turbans) and a photo session

6:00 pm: Baraat (groom's wedding procession) begins with Dhol (music) as we dance our way and take Ben to the wedding stage

7:30 pm: Niyoti will walk down the aisle

8:00 pm: Ben and Niyoti will have traditional Telugu ceremony, where the Jeelakarra Bellam signifies the union/marriage of the bride and the groom. Jeelakarra (cumin) and bellam (jaggery) are made into a thick paste and put on a tamalapaku (betel leaf). Niyoti and Ben will put it on each other’s head while the priest chants mantras from the Vedas. This auspicious ceremony signifies that the couple will stay together in bitter and sweet times.

Dinner throughout is Indian fusion.

Attire

Traditional Indian formal. For men this would be a kurta pajama or sherwani. For women this would be a sari or lehenga.
