Gift Registry

Please know that we don’t expect gifts from all y’all. The whole ‘it’s a gift just to have you join us’ cliche is heartfelt—and particularly poignant given international flights are required! That being said, if you'd really like to get us something, the gift registry link is below...

Transportation

Getting Around Hyderabad

If you'd like to explore the city—Uber works well in Hyderabad, and will charge your US credit card! Skip the Uber Moto, for a fun short ride consider Uber Auto (auto-rickshaw!), and for anything >10-15 minutes we’d suggest Uber Premium.

If you'd like a private car & driver, you can contact the wedding help desk on WhatsApp (+91 6304 127 689) to book one with >2 hours notice. (charges will apply)

We will have pre-assigned cars and drivers to take you to and from the wedding events.

Travel Notes

COVID Procedures

India requires either vaccination OR a negative PCR test to enter. It is very important that you fill out the online self-declaration form called Air Suvidha a few days before you travel. Airlines might not let you board without a completed Air Suvidha.

CEREMONY

We welcome you to our Indian wedding!

5:30 pm: Baraatis assemble for Safa-tying (turbans) and a photo session

6:00 pm: Baraat (groom's wedding procession) begins with Dhol (music) as we dance our way and take Ben to the wedding stage

7:30 pm: Niyoti will walk down the aisle

8:00 pm: Ben and Niyoti will have traditional Telugu ceremony, where the Jeelakarra Bellam signifies the union/marriage of the bride and the groom. Jeelakarra (cumin) and bellam (jaggery) are made into a thick paste and put on a tamalapaku (betel leaf). Niyoti and Ben will put it on each other’s head while the priest chants mantras from the Vedas. This auspicious ceremony signifies that the couple will stay together in bitter and sweet times.

Dinner throughout is Indian fusion.

Attire
