How to get to and get around Dubai?
The pre-wedding fun will commence on Monday 24th October. For those who wish to participate in any of the activities, we would advise booking getting in before this date! We would love everyone to meet and mingle as much as possible prior to the big day, but we both completely understand if people's schedules don't allow for this.
It would be great if people could let us know their travel dates whenever they book flights. It just makes our planning and preparation a little bit easier!

Only Emirates direct from Ireland to Dubai, with Emirates operating 1 daily flights out of Dublin. They would normally fly twice daily out of Dublin, but due to covid they have cut the number of flights back. There is every chance they will return to twice daily flights very soon.
The flight time is approx 7 hours so if you want to break it up then there are plenty of options from both Manchester and London.
There are ample 1 stop options, with popular ones being with Turkish Airways through Istanbul and Qatar Airways through Doha.
Another excellent alternative option is to fly with Etihad to Abu Dhabi and drive to Dubai, the drive takes approx 60/70 minutes depending on where you will be staying.
Skyscanner would be the best option for searching flights and allows you to sort by price, total travel distance etc.

Google Flights and Skyscanner again would be the best option for searching flights and allows you to sort by price, total travel distance etc. Google Flights has a good grid system where you can save on cost if you have flexibility with your travel dates.
Dubai is a taxi friendly city with ample transport options available. The main 2 apps to download before you arrive are Careem and Uber.
The most affordable taxi are the RTA (Government) Taxi's which can be ordered through the Careem app.
Alternative modes of transport are the Dubai Metro and the Dubai Tram. The Dubai Metro covers most of the city, the metro allows you travel the city for as little as AED4. The Dubai Tram is localised to the Dubai Marina region, but is a handy hop on/hop off service if you decide to stay there.
