Our story did not start off like many others. We met at a baby shower! Sager's friends, Kevin and Anu, were hosting a coed baby shower for Raksha's friend, Sweta. As the baby shower was coming to an end, Kevin called Sager to come over and hang out for the rest of the evening. Little did Sager know that he was coming to a baby shower so he shows up with a 6 pack of Coronas (ironic huh?) expecting to hang out with the Kevin and Anu. Later that evening, they all played the game Werewolf. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this game, it is very similar to Mafia. Raksha had not said more than hi to Sager that evening and half way through the game accused him of cheating. That was ultimately the extent of their interaction the first day they met. Soon after, Kevin set them up. Raksha and Sager were both skeptical at first since dating each other meant doing long distance but they knew they wanted to make it work after their first date!
Two years later, Sager recreated the day they first met to propose. He organized a brunch at Sweta's house and invited their close friends that were at the baby shower. After they ate, Raksha realized that everyone that was there was at the baby shower and wanted to play Werewolf again. She fell right into Sager's plan. Half way through the second game, Raksha opened her eyes to Sager on one knee proposing! She, of course, was shocked and interrupted him during his speech but eventually said yes! We were then joined by our closest friends and family at our apartment's rooftop in Dallas. Definitely a day that we will never forget!
