The Beginning
We saw each other for the first time in 2006 while out for a walk. We quickly discovered that we lived on the same street, and before we knew it, we were the best of friends - talking every day, giving relationship advice, making each other laugh, and trying crazy cooking experiments (see picture of Prince's nice round cookies to the left, vs. Kendra's sad cookies to the right...we'll leave out the story about trying to make hot sauce...).

After about a year and half, we realized that we had gradually built something more than friendship and oddly-shaped cookies. What could be better than falling in love with someone who already knows how wonderful and difficult you are but loves you anyway!

We've had an amazing journey together, built on trust and commitment that runs deeper than anything we could have asked for. We couldn't be more excited to see what the future has in store!
The Proposal
Prince went above and beyond to surprised Kendra with a picture-perfect proposal in the Banff mountains. He knelt in the snow to tell her that she had always been "the one". After waiting five long years for this moment, the proposal left Kendra so speechless that Prince had to say, "Kendra, are you alright? I can't get up from my knee until you answer". It's a good thing she said "yes", because Prince's parents and sisters had driven six hours from their home in Kingston, Ontario to her parents' home in Sudbury that morning. They arrived with gifts and well wishes so the two families could be together to bless and celebrate the engagement.

It was a beautiful reminder that marriage is not just the union of two individuals - it is also the union of two families...and also a reminder that good things come to those who wait!

It was a truly beautiful day.
