A shared love for food blossomed into our love story. Anyone who knows us knows that we are both huge foodies! We both happened to be at the Milwaukee Public Market, in line for Thai food, trying to satiate our lunchtime cravings. Aneysha asked for a recommendation, and Prashant suggested the Drunken Noodle. Lunchtime recommendations turned into lunch, which turned into our first date. Prashant cooked a delicious meal (dhokla) and we went to the Third Ward Art Gallery Night in Milwaukee.
From there, Prashant introduced Aneysha to the world of sports. We went to a few Green Bay Packers games at the historic Lambeau Field, watched Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA championship title, and cheered on the Milwaukee Brewers (while Aneysha cheered on the Chicago Cubs).
Aneysha introduced Prashant to the finer things in life. She took Prashant to his first musical, Hamilton, and we experienced several more after that, including Book of Mormon and Lion King. She shared her love for coffee, Harry Potter, art, fashion, and entrepreneurship.
Due to COVID-19, many of our travel plans were put on hold, but that couldn't stop us from creating an adventure of our own! We decided to take a road trip to Glacier National Park to explore the beautiful mountains and trails off the beaten path. Prashant came up with a brilliant idea: a 21-mile round-trip hike for the best views of the mountains, lakes, wildlife, and glaciers. After Aneysha agreed, they spent the day hiking all the way to the top of Grinnell Glacier, which included a 1,000 ft. elevation gain in over half a mile! At the top of the glacier overlook, Aneysha and Prashant witnessed a surprise - a proposal - but it wasn't their own.
To enjoy their last day in the park, they decided to see the sunrise as it graced the mountaintops the next morning. The expectation of a crystal clear sky turned into a foggy morning and light drizzle. Nevertheless, they walked onto the pier to gaze into the vastness of Lake McDonald and its surrounding mountains. This moment of absolute tranquility, serenity, and beauty turned into a memory we will both never forget. Prashant got down on one knee and asked "Tze kharke mein seeth khandar?", or "Will you marry me?", in Kashmiri, and of course, Aneysha said yes!
Our relationship has always been based on a love for adventure and an appreciation for making memories. We aspire to travel the world, learn new languages, try new cuisines, and build an amazing life together!
