Kaitlin Lacy
The MOH/PIC
Blueberry donuts and cheddar sour cream ruffles is what first comes to mind when I think of Kaitlin. Oh and Chili’s .. Can’t forget Chili’s - where I was lucky enough to cross paths with with this rare gem!
Initially, she was a hostess and I was a server... I really can’t remember what it was that led to us hanging out the first time.. I believe it was because of a boy she was interested in and I agreed to play hitch. Which.. I succeeded in doing so since she’s currently set to take his last name!
Whatever the reason for our initial hang out - safe to say, we were inseparable since that day! Our days consisted of : plenty of Chili’s doubles - which led to plenty of Panera lunch dates - plenty of sleep overs - and private rap sessions where we would replay songs over and over again until we could rap certain parts from beginning to end with out mistake haha!!
I have never met anyone so much like me, or had a friend I could tell anything to - without being afraid of their response or judgement! Even if we haven’t spoke in awhile, I know I can call her to unload everything I may have been busting at the seams to get out to someone!!
Kaitlin has been present in almost every difficult life experience I have had, so I’m more than grateful to have her with me for one of the happiest days of my life!!
Cacey Elliott
The Irreplaceable Friend
Next to Erika and Kaitlin, my next longest friendship has been with Cacey!! Tito’s vodka, days on the lake and/or beach, and late night excursions that often included dance battles is what I think when I think about this girl!
I met Cacey at a restaurant I worked at in Baltimore, called The Rowhouse Grille. Since it was a small Mom and Pop type place our full staff amounted to maybe 20 people total. I remember Cacey was the one to train me and she was just so bubbly and energetic!
We hit it off pretty quickly, and I don’t think it was due to slim pickings of employees loll. We actually made plans outside of work, took many of beach trips, spent family holiday dinners together, took a daycation to NY with Kaitlin Lacy, and equally sucked through multiple seasons of beach volleyball.
When I made the decision to move back to KC, before meeting Teddy she was one of the hardest people to say bye to. She had become one of my closest friends at the time. Even though distance, time, and busy lives kind of caused a rift in the closeness of our relationship - Cacey will always be one of my dearest friends!! Everyone needs a friend like Cacey in their life, she is honestly one of the most honest and caring people I’ve ever met in my life!
I’m even lucky enough for her to share the month of June with me, since she’s (finally) marrying Zach the week before she stands next to me in my wedding!
Whitley Guey
The Spirit Animal
No crazy for warning story for this girl! Whitely has been the absolute sweetest person to me since day one! She is someone who is so genuinely nice, that her being mean to someone is actually humorous loll . I also met her during my time at Rock &Brews, and remember her loud and bubbly personality is what stood out most.
I knew long before we became friends she was my spirit animal...
I always knew if Whitley was part of the plan- we were guaranteed to have a good time!! So you can imagine how upset I was when I found out she couldn’t make it to the Bachelorette party! My turn up partner is expecting her 2nd baby, so I guess this is an acceptable reason to reschedule our celebration!
Before she moved back to OK with her fam bam, girls nights at Whitely’s house were some of my favorite, we would always have a good time filled with laughing hard enough to make your stomach hurt!!
Since covid, limited traveling, and everyday life -like building our families- it has been quite awhile since I’ve seen this beaut!
Here’s a fun fact : Kaetlyn and I actually went to Whitely’s wedding together - back in our R&B days, back before any of us became Mama’s!! (Well that weekend is when Kaetlyn found out she would be a Mama!)
Since it’s been long overdue I am so very excited to get to see her again, and to spend this day with her!
Mackie Earney
The Spitfire
This crazy little spitfire has always been just a ball of good energy!! If you listen closely the night of the wedding you might mistake her laugh for mine - we share that contagious, loud belly laugh which we can’t control.
I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Mackie at Sullivan’s steakhouse! I only worked at Sullivan’s while I was preggo, but like Rachel, I was able to build a friendship with her even without the alcohol or late night after shift excursions (this is where most restaurant relationships start fyi).
She is definitely one of the kindest people I’ve ever met and has one of the biggest hearts! I have always envied Mackie’s confidence - which I know I’m not the only one - her confidence must radiate because we can’t go out one single night without her being stopped or her presence recognized!
I’m ready for her to shine next to me on this big day!
Rachel Pesce
The Rare Gem
Another restaurant relationship - I know there’s a trend... I find the sprinkled gems throughout my restaurant employments and keep only the rare and most precious ones for life.
Rachel is another one of those rare gems! She was a bartender at Sullivan’s steakhouse when I was the preggo server. Once we started to get to know reach other we found out we had crossed paths much more than we realized - including a large group of mutual friends.
Once I was able to drink and partake in adulting activities again, we finally got to hang out - outside of work - at our planned girls nights and later to celebrate her dirty 30 - I mean 21st - in style!
Rachel is one of the sweetest people but with a tough shell.. what I mean by that is.. well in short, she don’t take no s***! I don’t want to say you have to prove worthy to be her friend, but that you should feel special to call her your friend; because like me, she chooses her friends wisely.
I’m thankful I was able to soften the shell and have a friend like her in my life to spend this day with!
Jamie Swanson
The Selfless Friend
Jamie has always been so sweet to me, ever since the first time I met her! I met her a few years ago through Teddy, and ever since we were introduced, she has always greeted me with the same genuine smile! Jamie really took control in making sure I felt very special during my bachelorette party! Which for being one of my newest friends, it feels good to know I can count on her just as much as my lifelong friends!
Fun Fact : One of the very first nights Teddy and I went out was the night before Jamie’s wedding . It was a pretty eventful evening that ended in us sleeping in Teddy’s truck, out front of Johnny’s. Of course it was a short sleep for Teddy, because I forgot to mention - he was in the wedding!
Now Jamie gets to walk down the aisle with Kyle a second time - or should I say Kyle gets to walk down the aisle with her again!
Jessica Cochran
The Youngblood
Before I was Assistant Manager, I was a leasing agent. I actually leased to Jessica longgg before my promotion and long before she too became a leasing agent at Pointe Royal!
Our relationship began as strictly a work one, she’s the young blood of the group, so at first the age difference seemed to be the only objective. In the beginning - Jessica was a quick learner and always so helpful! She always asked me what she could do for me since she had no work to do. So me teaching her things in my office - led to more conversation and us realizing how much we had in common!! (Despite the age gap)
Soon I was working with her more closely because she got the opportunity to apply for an Assistant Manager position. Though she didn’t get the opportunity to leave us - I’m selfishly thankful to still have her under my wing as my little assistant, and more importantly - my friend!
We had already built a friendship at this point, and thennnnnn - covid hit. We were quarantined together in the office as Team B when we had implemented our rotating schedule in the beginning. This is what turned our work relationship into a real friendship, and brought us close enough to ask her to be a part of my special day!
Meg Shae
The Reliable Friend
Meg is another friend I’m thankful to have met through Teddy! In the beginning, when I was first meeting each of Teddy’s friends and being invited to events by the wives and girlfriends of Teddy’s friends - I knew I could always count on her, a familiar face, to be there!! A lot of times she was one of the the only people I knew, until I became a regular attendee myself.
Meg is both a girls girl and a guys girl, which is hard to come by these days! She’s hand down someone you could count on for almost anything - and I’m sure anyone reading this would agree!
Alex Pierron
Best Man
Me and alex go way back to about april 16th, 1989. We have known each other for quite some time. Our parents have told us before i was born they asked alex what he wanted to name me, and his answer was ninja turtle! I have always looked up to my big brother, and he has always been an exceptional role model for me. From being in his wedding, to watching him become an amazing husband and father. One of my favorite memories between just himself and i was in 2013 in November. We bought tickets to watch Sporting Kansas City in the Cup. It was maybe a high of 10 degrees that day. We got a couple brewskis and before every drink we had to knock the ice off of our mustaches and we were drinking beer slushies because it was so cold out! The game ended up going in to extra time, so we snuck down to about 10 rows up and watched as it went scoreless in both extra time periods. So it went into a shootout. The teams were so neck and neck and exhausted that if sporting didnt make this next goal (13th attempt for each team) the goalies were due up next for each team. They made the attempt and were champs, i just remember turning to Alex, A.K.A. grizzly adams who had a massive beard at the time and pulling on it so hard in excitement!
Brady Croucher
When i first met brady, i had just heard from word of mouth that he is very loud. We were at a house party and in walked this guy with a loud mouth and overtalking everybody. I did not like him because he thought he was a hotshot and so obnoxiously loud. We ended up fishing about every night that summer and getting along, and i thought hell had frozen over. One of my favorite memories of brady and I are countless but we have had alot of nights just shooting the sh*t and smoking cigars and talking life. He was always there for me when i needed him and i am always there for him when he needed somebody to talk to, and i am always grateful for that.
Kyle Burbridge
Kyle A.K.A. Burb and my brother were good friends growing up, and the first time i recall meeting burb was their friends house, where there would be a big texas hold em' party every weekend. One of the best memories i have from kyle and I was back when i was a freshman in high school and he was a senior, we had a snow day. One of my good friends at the time dustin was already over at my house and Al called kyle to come over and bring over his computer and we would all link up and play warcraft together. So kyle lived down the road, and he said he was gonna bring some frozen pizzas over so we could snack and play. He pulls up to the house and al, dustin, and myself were all on the deck locked and loaded with a paintball gun and just unloaded on him! He was pretty irate, we destroyed the pizzas as well. I dont think he has gotten over that to this day, LOL!
Eric Perrigo
I remember meeting Eric back in 2008 or somewhere around there at Applebees. He wasnt working there at that time, but he knew a lot of us that worked there. He was this tall skinny kid, and he ordered a 2 for 20 and ate it all by himself, and i was like sheesh who is this guy!? Eric got me into playing softball and it was pretty competitive. It was a fun hobby to have, and something to get out of the house and do something every week. We were playing in an overnight tournament in wellsville in 2018, and this was right about when Carly moved back to KS and was one of the first times her coming and watching me play so I had to do something special. Eric was batting in front of me one game and the pitcher kept pitching eric inside and he wasnt going to swing and take a walk because every run counts in these tournaments. They kept complaining saying you sissy dont take a walk and it was getting very heated so eric swung at the next one and blew the pitcher up. I walked up to plate and i was still arguing with the pitcher and catcher and they didnt want to admit they were wrong. They just made my adrenaline so I high, and when i swung i crushed that ball, the farthest Homer ive ever hit to this day still. I just had to showout for my babe!
Seth Roberts

Seth has been my longest friend of about 25 years. I remember being in mrs. wellmans 2nd grade class together, and we would whisper cuss words into each others ears and thought it was so funny. Seth was my first friend i had ever had sleep over. We had a big fight at school in elementary school one day, and it was kind of like a breakup. I was so upset and crying, but of course we made up! I remember sitting on the couch with my parents and just waiting and watching out of the window for him to show up! We had some great times riding 4 wheelers, playing baseball on the same team our whole lives (and always winning the championship!) partying up in my loft (haha sorry mom) and living together in college. Im glad seth will be standing by my side on my wedding day!

Chris Kern
Chris is another 1 of my longtime friends of almost 25 years too. A funny story of chris and i was when we were in grade school and i was over at his house. We were playing basketball, and i just remember i was just trying to annoy him and I kept throwing balls at him while he would shoot, and next thing i know he is on top of me punching me and beating me up until i hear his mom yelling at him saying Christopher get off of him!! We were roommates in college together, and that didnt go well, as we didnt see eye to eye on a lot of things, but we were able to get over that and overcome our differences. Because thats what best buds do. We dont get to see each other as often now, but when we do, its like we never missed a beat and it was just 2 best friends hanging out.
Chris Antos
Ole' Antos. hahaha. We met back in 2007 at turtle wax. That was a fun job! I never thought i would meet him or see him again after we both left turtle wax. I was wrong. I walked into the Pike house at Pitt my Junior year for a recruiting event, and there was Antos! That made me want to join even more. We hung out a lot at the Pike house, and in college in general after that. When we both left Pitt and moved back to the KC area, he was my main guy to go out to the bars with. He didnt like going out with me, becuase we would go out for just a couple of drinks and next thing you know we wake up the next morning not knowing how a couple of drinks turned into that way. This happened about every weekend for a few years LOL! Chris was with me of course on the night i met Carly for the first time at Johnnys, and then to talk of the town. Were only going to have a couple of drinks on my wedding night buddy!!!
Kyle Swanson
I met Kyle on my way down to Manhattan about 6 years ago for Fake Pattys day with a few friends, and their mutual friends had kyle hitch a ride with us. Thats the way Kyle is. He is always up for a good time, with anyone. Even if its riding with 4 strangers down to Manhattan for a weekend. That weekend was a blast and me and kyle closed the bars down. Kyle always had a breakfast burrito and Mountain dew ready for me the morning after anything. He stole my date i brought to an even one night, and ended up marrying her! Im a pretty good matchmaker! Im glad i met Kyle, and we met at the same time in our lives that we were going through similar difficulties. Lets take a selfie on carly and I's wedding night :)
