Lectoure
The historic hilltop village of Lectoure (10 mins drive) is incredibly attractive and there is a lovely antique market in what used to be the old 18th century hospital. The Friday morning Farmer’s market is a must to buy some of the amazing local produce and there are also some excellent restaurants and cafes across the picturesque village.

The town of Lectoure also has natural hot thermal springs which have been turned into a charming spa centre. For those staying at the Hôtel Collège des Doctrinaires, this is next door. Treatments available by booking only through the following link:

While staying in the Gers, a visit to local producers is essential. If you're looking for a perfect place to taste magrets, confits, duck or goose Foie Gras, the choice is literally limitless, from the tiny Auberge (or Inn) to the upper Michelin starred restaurant.

We highly recommended L'Auberge des Bouviers, a local Michelin restaurant in Lectoure. Here you can get an amazing 3 course meal for 33 euros.

La Romieu
Apart from the Collegiate (which has been listed by Unesco as a World Heritage site) the town is full of old stone houses covered in roses, tiny medieval alleys and meandering streets that haven’t changed in centuries. The village is on the route de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle and you will see pilgrims making their way through the village just as they have done for a thousand years.
Condom
Yes the commune of "Condom" is another local town (25 mins drive away)

Yes there is a sign there that says "Condom" in the town for your instagram, however it is also the site of two castles, the Château de Mothes and the Château de Pouypardin and includes a Michelin-starred restaurant as well as boat rental.
