Wedding dress codes can get confusing, and “black tie optional” is a particularly tricky one. How fancy is it, exactly? 

It’s actually simpler than it sounds: For a black tie optional wedding,  men should wear a formal dark suit and tie and women can go the long evening gown route, a dressy suit or shorter cocktail dress is fine too.

You may have noticed that our date is a little out of the ordinary, but then again so are we.

We know the tradition is to be married on a Saturday, however the universe conspired leaving us without a choice but to host a Friday party.
