An introduction ceremony is a traditional pre-wedding ceremony, based on Congolese tradition, in which Odette officially introduces Erwin (and his family and escorts) to her parents and relatives. It is an Important celebration in Congolese culture and it includes many cultural customs and traditions.

Due to covid19, the number of guests have been limited. So this particular event is by invite only from Mr & Mrs Bahati.

The Ceremony, Cocktail hour, and Reception will all take place at one venue.

The ceremony will be an outdoor event and will begin at 3:00pm and will lead directly into cocktails. Finger foods will be served during this hour.

Reception will begin at 6:00pm. Due to Covid19, the reception will also be an out door affair in a tent. For our guests’ peace of mind, the planning team will ensure tables are reasonably distanced apart to abide by the current social distancing guidelines.

The dress code is Contemporary and elegant but also keeping that Garden Attire or Summer Formal look in mind.

While that sounds cool it probably leads to many questions and so we’ll provide our suggestions.

Please note that the ceremony, cocktail hour & Reception will all be outdoor. There is no gravel, only grass. Please keep this in mind as you choose shoes for these events. For the ladies, you might want to bring wedges or a pair of flats for your comfort.

Here are our suggestions for dress code;

Women: Elegant evening dress, chic cocktail dress, dressy jumpsuit, or pant suit with dressy blouse & summer dress..

Men: Dark suit or blazer or A light suit with a linen shirt, pants, sandals, or dress shoes. Ties are not a requirement.

NOTE: We are praying for good weather. But just incase it gets chilly, since it’s an outdoor affair, please carry a jacket for your comfort . And maybe sunglasses too.

What’s a 21 century wedding without a wedding hashtag... We couldn’t decide on a hashtag :) so we decided to have 2.
