Meeting the bride Ochuko, my best friend and soul sister is one of those things that I am convinced was divinely orchestrated.
Almost 15 years ago, in a narrow hostel corridor, we were both grieving individual losses but we couldn’t help but ask each other what was wrong. Little did we know that, that encounter would be the beginning of us sharing each other’s shoulder through the highs and lows, building what is now a remarkable connection & sisterhood.
Ochuko & Victor’s love is unfeigned, built on the sincerest of hearts, I particularly love how intentional they are about each other… it’s so infectious and beautiful to watch. I am confident that these two make a perfect blend, and I can’t wait to celebrate more moments from the beautiful life they will create together including their mini- creations and look-alikes.
Hey guys, it's the bride's one and only baby sister here!
So how I met the bride? Well, on the day I was born, she realised the worst had happened (replacement last born) and she welcomed me with tears. However, despite crying when they brought me home and asking our mum how she could do this to her, she became the best big sister a girl could ask for. I never felt alone growing up because of Ochuko. She did everything with me, well as much as she could, within her powers, as a child. She watched all my Barbie movies and Disney with me (Aladdin was a fave).
As we all know, she's a songstress so she'd write the lyrics for all the soundtracks (like a true Abu babe) and we'd sing it together. Considering our age difference you'd assume we wouldn't fight for the remote but we did and she beat me. Thanks to her, I had a fun-filled childhood despite being left alone most of the time. I love her endlessly.
As for my thoughts on the lovely couple, I believe that my sister has met someone deserving of her and all the beautiful and unique qualities she possesses. Her first description of Victor to me was "He is kind" and his actions towards me and the rest of my family have proved that. Ochuko is deserving of kindness, care, consideration and happiness and I'm truly glad that she's found someone who shows her all those things. Congratulations to the groom, he's won a prize. I wish both of them a happy, loving, peaceful and successful married life.
I met Ochuko in 2005, during the nascent days of my SS1 in secondary school. We were both placed in Blue Bell House, sharing the same room. I was this tiny person, feeling lost in the sea of new faces, but fate decided to throw us together. At first, we weren’t particularly close; just two girls sharing a space, navigating teenage life.
Everything changed between 2006 and 2007. That's when we formed our little clique, "Lils in Love." Our group was a mix of characters: Ochuko, Damola, and a bunch of other tiny, vibrant personalities. We were inseparable, sharing secrets, dreams, and countless laughs. Those were the days of carefree joy and unforgettable memories. Our bond grew stronger, and Ochuko became an integral part of my life.
After secondary school, life took us in different directions. We went off to different universities, each of us carving our paths in the world. But despite the distance, we stayed in touch, even if it was just once in a blue moon. Then, by a twist of fate, we reconnected after Ochuko moved to Lagos. It was like no time had passed at all, and our friendship picked up right where it left off.
Ochuko is the kind of friend everyone dreams of having. She's a ride-or-die, fiercely loyal, and always ready to stand by your side. To truly know Ochuko, you need patience. She might be misunderstood at first glance, but beneath that exterior is a heart of gold. She’s the friend who will fight for you, support your wildest dreams, and be there when you need her the most.
What I love about Ochuko and Victor as a couple is how perfectly they complement each other. Ochuko’s feisty spirit finds balance in Victor’s calm demeanor. They’re like yin and yang, each bringing out the best in the other. I’ve seen Ochuko blossom into the best version of herself since she met Victor. His love makes her smile, makes her happy, and completes her in a way that’s beautiful to witness.
To the lovely couple, I wish you endless blessings and a lifetime of love. May your journey together be filled with joy, laughter, and countless beautiful memories. Here’s to a future as bright as your love for each other!
I first saw Ochuko in 2017 when I went for a job interview. She walked past me, and at that moment, I knew if I got the job, she would be my work bestie. Indeed, she became my bestie at work, and it’s been an amazing journey ever since. Our friendship blossomed, and I feel truly blessed to have met her.
Ochuko has been nothing but sweet, always bringing joy, and there’s never a dull moment with her. Remember the days we used to sit in our little cubicle? Humble beginnings. Look how far we’ve come, my sweet angel.
Then, she met our Mr. Charming, Victor. He swept her off her feet and filled her life with love and affection. It was clear they were a match made in heaven. Watching their relationship blossom into marriage has been one of the greatest joys of my life. And as the foodie that I am, Mr. Vic, please don’t stop sending muffins to the office!
I am so happy to witness this beautiful moment. It will always be remembered. I wish the couple an eternal bond, endless love, and happiness. Congratulations, and best of luck in continuing to navigate the little annoying things with grace and humour.
Ever inherited good fortunes in human form? That’s simply how I met the lovely bride Ochuko. We met through our mutual friend, and it’s been an amazing journey of sisterhood. We always felt like we knew each other before we met and when we eventually did it was like we have known each other for years. They say adult friendships are the toughest, they lied because our friendship has been one of ease, maturity and reliance and I am grateful for the gift of us.
Twins or picture perfect?! I genuinely think the couple look alike but that’s debatable and that’s okay. Ochuko and Victor make an incredible match having a bond that’s so contagious and a love that is so inspiring. You can always tell they were meant to be. Wishing both a blissful and beautiful home.
It's as if I've eagerly awaited this very day.
From sharing a hostel and playful banter to reminiscing about childhood memories in that cozy little space, we had no idea we would spend the next decade navigating through chaos and beauty together.
Through various stages - sharing a room, sharing laughter, meals, and tears to making memories together - you have remained kind, genuinely supportive, authentic, sincere, ever-evolving, cheerful, and, most importantly, inspiring. You’ve always looked out for me as well.
I am incredibly proud and grateful to have you as a friend. Your achievements are not only well-deserved but also a constant source of inspiration for me. Your confidence, determination, focus, and success in reaching your goals have always been admirable. SM!!! Our friendship brings me immense joy and a sense of security.
On this special day, remember that everyone is celebrating with you and your life partner as you embark on your most beautiful adventure yet. I have no doubt it will be one of the happiest days of your life, filled with nothing but joy. I can’t wait to see you radiate as the most beautiful and delightful bride.

Are there any interesting stories of the Groom you want to share?
In my final year of secondary school, Victor and I were both made prefects. As I entered that year, I asked God to give me a real close friend. Victor became chapel prefect and suggested that we start praying for the school year together. Prior to this we were more like acquaintances. As we prayed regularly, we became like brothers and I suddenly realized that God had answered my prayer. We have been close friends ever since. Victor is truly like a brother to me and I am so happy for him and Ochuko!
Thoughts/advice for the couple?
Forgive quickly and remember the good done moreso than any hurt incurred.
A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey, they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote in the sand:
Today my best friend slapped me in the face.
They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but his friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:
Today my best friend saved my life.
The friend, who had slapped and saved his best friend, asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand, and now, you write on a stone, why?"
The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand, where the winds of forgiveness can erase it away, but when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.
