Several years ago in Philadelphia, two wandering dreamers stumbled upon each other through sheer happenstance and little did they know that their lives would be forever changed. They couldn't be more different people (and frankly still are), with one studying Pharmacy at University of the Sciences and the other studying the intersection between games and film at Drexel University. The one commonality they discovered early on was their love for stories, no matter the form they came in - books, movies, you name it. The stars of this story are Nishi & Girish, and their story was just getting started.
Through this connection, they both learned that The Lion King held a special place in both of their hearts - it was the movie Nishi played almost everyday growing up and it was the movie that inspired Girish to pursue a career in filmmaking. In their earlier years, The Lion King was playing at the Franklin Institute in Philly, and Girish decided to surprise Nishi with tickets to watch it. This only made the movie more special for them and for some reason, Girish always held on to the tickets - wondering if they would come in handy one day.
While their years in Philly were full of learning about each other, developing a friendship, and living in the moment, they soon embarked on what would be 5+ years apart when Girish moved to Los Angeles. They spent these years finishing their education, building their professional foundations, and transitioning into adulthood. Whether it was being together during Christmas and watching The Holiday or seeing each other for weekend trips - they relied on their moments together to make up for the hardships of a long-distance relationship, knowing that one day they would be together again. While it was without a doubt the hardest time for both of them, they decided to thrive by growing into themselves without growing apart.
Now this is the part of the story where these stars collide. The day came when they were finally in the same city again in LA. And almost magically, the perfect proposal fell into place - with Girish having the chance to be a part of The Lion King remake, the premiere was coming up in July 2019, which was the perfect cover-up to get Nishi all dressed up and excited to walk the red carpet. In a very 'Circle of Life' fashion, the two became engaged in a way that had elements of their relationship and personalities combined into an ensemble that they would remember forever.
And in a moment, so special and so personal - #GBenttheNi
And thus these two dreamers began planning for the day their lives will be forever changed - September 6, 2020
(but wait...)
As the world went into quarantine, nothing could keep these two from putting a bookmark in their story. With their flame burning strong, Nishi & Girish stood alone atop a mountain in Malibu and vowed, under the auspice of a civil ceremony, to unite as one under marriage. A moment savored for just the two of them proved special, given the circumstances, to keep the dream alive of a wedding that they could one day spend with their friends and family.
With the main act set for September 5, 2021, all eyes are set to the formal wedding of Nishi and Girish!
...and with these two, one thing is clear - the adventure has only just begun.
