The very first trip we did together was an over night float trip. This picture is not from that trip. We met in October and went on a float trip in March. Yes... March, sometimes it gets cold. One year it snowed, Nickey didn't come that year, but she has been there when it's below freezing, she is a trooper. We go on float trips 2-3 times every year. The other guy is Max if you don't know him he'll be at the wedding too.
Towards the beginning of our relationship, we did an all day date at the Weston Wineries. We had a lot of fun traveling around on foot and in our car to different wineries. At the end of our trip, we stopped at Green Dirt Farm Creamery to try out the different cheeses.
We love to travel! We had been dating for about 1 year and decided our 1st big trip was Italy. Nic planned a 2-week trip where we went to a bunch of different cities in Italy, to see all the beautiful architecture and eat all the amazing food and Gelato. We ate a lot of Gelato. We went to Venice, Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, Naples and Capri. Yeah, we move around a lot. Nickey has a pair of Birkenstocks that this was their first trip too. She still wears them, they probably have over 1000 miles on them now. This picture is from Rome at the Colosseum.
We backpacked down through a canyon to Havasu Falls in the Havasupai Reservation. The waterfalls were beautiful. We camped there for a few nights One day we hiked all the way to the Colorado River, we had one stretch where we walked neck deep in water. Instead of backpacking out, we enjoyed a helicopter ride out of the Native American village.
Our 2nd big trip as a couple, Costa Rica! We loved all the adventure this country had to offer. We did ziplining, hiked through rain forests, went canoeing, whitewater rafting, and relaxing in the volcanic hot springs. We saw many different animals around the country. We saw whales, tons of birds, we even saw some sea turtles mating. We saw all 3 species of sloths and all 4 species of monkeys in Costa Rica. Some monkeys even came to our table during breakfast.
We have traveled to Florida for multiple different occasions. Some include the ANCC Magnet conference and a family trip to Disney but we always end up swinging over to see the Willams' Family. They take us to different blue holes, lighthouses or fun activities they know we will enjoy. One trip we went scalloping, it's like Easter egg hunting for adults. We even take Tim's boat out on the water.
During COVID, Nic said let's go on a trip. We had both been vaccinated and Nic was getting a promotion to become a Battalion Chief. I said, "A Trip? Sounds great!" We went to Caye Caulker and Amergris Caye. Pretty islands to explore in Belize. We did many snorkeling trips and enjoyed the delicious seafood.
Nic had been trying to get some sort of champagne or wine for us to toast. We had driven around the whole island in our golf cart going to many different grocery stores to pick the right one:) Nic had told me we were toasting for his Chief promotion. When we got back to the resort. Nic wanted to do the toast outside. They had a lot of mosquitos by our huts. I was complaining about the mosquitos, Nic was afaird I was going to go in. So he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Obviously, I said yes!
Last photo....because we love ice cream! Whoever doesn't can't be friends with us. We love our ice cream whether it be Foo's frozen custard, dairy queen or gelato. We never say no to ice cream!
