We met salsa dancing in downtown Columbus. Markiel wanted to learn more English, Alyssa wanted to learn more Spanish, so they exchanged numbers and agreed to meet later to practice both of their languages together.
Nos conocimos en un club de salsa en la ciudad de Columbus. Markiel queria aprender mas Ingles, Alyssa queria practicar el Español, entoces intercambiaron numeros telefonicos con el acuerdo de verse luego para practicar los diferentes idiomas juntos.
Right before a snowstorm came to Columbus, we spontaneously decided to escape to Miami together, soaking in some sun, sea, and sights. We fell in love here, sitting together at Villa Vizcaya having some coffee.

We bought a fixer-upper, and spent many hours sanding, painting, tiling, drywalling, and powerwashing. Alyssa's parents and Markiel's family pitch in endless hours, bringing our families together to make our little house in Westgate a home.

Two drifters, off to see the world...we travel together a lot. Skydiving, paddleboarding, kayaking, safaris, freediving, snorkeling, camping - and we still love each other after! Our top highlights were bioluminescent kayaking in Merritt Island, having a bear visit us during a camping trip, getting chased by raccoons on a beach, and so much more.

Alyssa reads a lot about the shipwreck and pirate history of the Florida Keys, sparking a vacation to the Keys. On our last day, we snorkel at Bahia Honda State Park. On the bottom of the ocean floor, Alyssa finds a treasure! When they take the cipher back to the beach, Markiel suggests trying "I love you" as the code. It worked, and Markiel's grandmother's ring was in inside.
Alyssa lee mucho sobre el naufragio y la historia pirata de los Florida Keys, provocando unas vacaciones. En nuestro último día, hacemos snorkel en el Parque Bahía Honda. ¡En el fondo del océano, Alyssa encuentra un tesoro! Cuando llevan el código de vuelta a la playa, Markiel sugiere que pruebes "Te amo" como código. Funcionó, y el anillo de la abuela de Markiel estaba adentro.
