New York State Museum
Easily the most convenient attraction to visit before the ceremony, The New York State Museum is a center of art, science, and history dedicated to exploring the human and natural history of the state. Established in 1836, it is the oldest and largest state museum in the country.
Washington Park
The premier park in the city of Albany, New York, and “one of the nation’s 100 most important parks” according to the American Association of Architects.
Albany Institute of History & Art
Founded in 1791, the Albany Institute of History & Art is one of the oldest museums in the United States. It also is the major repository for the region's heritage, with nationally significant collections.
Schuyler Mansion
Schuyler Mansion was once home to Philip J. Schuyer, renowned Revolutionary War general, US Senator, and business entrepreneur. He and his wife, Catharine Van Rensselaer, both descended from affluent Dutch families and together, raised eight children in this home.
New York State Capitol
If you're here on Friday, check out the capitol! Some tours are available on Saturday, but you must make reservations in advance.
Sitting majestically atop Albany’s State Street hill, the New York State Capitol has served as the seat of government for New York since the 1880s. The building is a marvel of late 19th-century architectural grandeur, built by hand of solid masonry over a period of 32 years. All tours of the New York State Capitol last up to one hour and are free of charge.
New World Bistro Bar
New World Bistro Bar is an 80 seat gastro pub in the heart of Albany’s newly revitalized Delaware Avenue Neighborhood.
The building is cozy, the food is fresh and creative, and the staff is friendly and nurturing. We have designed the next generation of neighborhood cafes, feeling more like Park Slope than midtown Manhattan. Come as you are.
