We have known each other since 2014 through mutual friends. Keith moved to Las Vegas from Panama City, Florida in 2014 to start a new chapter in his life. He lived with a friend who happened to be part of the group of college friends that I consider my extended family. We instantly got along very well as friends and found comfort in each other’s company. Keith became one of my best friends because he was always there for me and always cared for me.
Our love story began on Jan' 2017. I had just gotten out of a long relationship and Keith was my person. He was the person I called when I was sad, hungry, needed someone to build my dresser, walked me through my dates, and to get rid of men that wouldn't leave me alone at nightclubs. So, here's the story... One very eventful Saturday night at XS nightclub, we were meticulously searching for the perfect person for each other. After a few hours of a failed attempt to find "THE ONE," both of our lives flashed before us as we stared into each other’s eyes, we realized the reason we couldn’t find the perfect person for each other was because WE WERE THE PERFECT PERSON FOR EACH OTHER. & we lived happily ever after.
In the last four years, we have built a beautiful life together. We have accomplished things that we never thought we could. We have been blessed with more than we can wish for. We own a home and have two fur babies named Morty and Summer. We’ve faced challenges and learned to overcome them together. Most of all, no matter how difficult life got, we chose to love each other every day and loved each other more on the hardest days. After four years of adventure, we have finally decided to make our family official and we are very excited to celebrate our love with all of you.
On April 18, 2021, Keith planned a surprise proposal with the help of cousins, Karmel and Stephanie. Keith’s alibi for the day was that he was going to do extra work with an old coworker. He had already mentioned his alibi a week prior to the proposal day which made it so much more believable. Little did I know, he was off to kick-start the beginning of a new chapter in our life.
Due to COVID 19, My dad and I did not see each other for two years. After receiving his COVID vaccine he had planned to finally visit on that weekend. On that day, my dad asked me to go on a “father-daughter” date with him at Texas De Brazil, he was very specific about asking me to dress up because “he was dressing up.” This was not unusual for me because my dad has always been particular about public appearance. On our way to the restaurant, he had asked me to stop by my Tita Jing’s house because he needed to pick up his inhaler. I had argued to pick it up after dinner instead because I was hungry, but he insisted that we go there first (you never win with a Filipino dad). When we arrived at the house, there was nothing unusual and no sign that would reveal the surprise. My dad went in by himself first and then came back asking for help. At this time, I was already very hungry and displeased by all the demands my dad had been making.
As I angrily walked through the side gate, there was dead silence. I looked up in shock when I saw my best friends and family with Keith standing in the middle against a beautifully decorated backdrop. Through shock, awe and hunger- I reached out for his hand to hold me (some might say that I shook his hand). After four years of being together, I have been dreaming of this moment and it finally happened! Keith finally confessed his love for me and asked for my hand in marriage.
