Getting There
We recommend everyone to fly into Mexico City to begin your journey. If you're coming to Tepoztlán directly from the airport, you can take a safe airport taxi outside baggage claim. If you choose a regular car (up to 4 ppl), it costs roughly USD 85. If you choose to take a large SUV (up to 6ppl), it will be around USD120. An Uber from downtown Mexico City should be USD 60-80, depending on departure time and surge pricing. The ride is typically 2 hours along a beautiful road that takes you up and over the mountains. But it is Easter weekend, so expect heavy traffic if you leave on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday.
We recommend you book your pick-up, as there are not that many options in Tepotzlán. Cuernatours is a good option and we are using them for several parties. Let us know if you are interested in joining a van / buses from Tepoztlán back to Mexico City Airport / Downtown CDMX on Sunday, April 17th.
Once in Tepoztlán, you can walk or use local taxis (+52 739 395 0995) to get around. Rides are typically MXN 50-100 (< USD 5).
NOTE: Make sure you head to Tepoztlán (in the State of Morelos, south of CDMX) and NOT to Tepotzotlán (in the State of Mexico, north of CDMX).
