Hi, I'm Vincent

Mugg and Bean (how we met)

Long story short... Vincent saw me (Meka) and shouted, "Woah, man!" Just kidding.

I was near the end of an extended fast. With a few remaining days left of the fast, I traveled from Mozambique to South Africa to spend those last days away from the mission's field. After arriving in South Africa, I was taken to an eatery called Mugg and Bean to use their wifi for a virtual meeting. The meeting did not go as planned, and it disturbed me until I could slowly feel offense taking place. I didn't like what I was starting to feel, so I started asking God for more of Him so I wouldn't feel what I was feeling. At that moment, Vincent and his uncle walked into the eatery. I heard the Holy Spirit clearly say, have these men pray for you. From across the room, in such an American way, I shouted, "are you guys pastors?" The uncle nodded his head, and I ran up to them crying and pleading, "Please, please, you must pray for me. I need God. I really need Jesus. Please pray for me."

They thought I was asking for salvation, but in fact, I was asking for more of Jesus.

Mugg and Bean (how we met)

Meka and I met at the coffee shop in South Africa called Mugg & Bean... I was there with my uncle to discuss the logistics of the church.  Once we were seated and our food brought to us, we blessed our food and to our surprise everyone in our section said amen. Meka, on the other side of the table, yelled with the question, "Guys are you Pastors?" My uncle called her over to our table. She came and we introduced ourselves to her. That's how I met the girl of my dream!!! The rest is a great history!!!

First Date(s)

Unofficially, our first date was an all night prayer meeting at Vincent's church. It was unofficial because our first date was planned for a Monday, however, Meka was stranded at the airport and Vincent (still a stranger) came to her rescue while on his way to an all night prayer meeting. Meka of course joined.

Officially, our first date was on a Monday. Vincent was able to convince Meka to allow him to take her out. Meka, after agreeing, asked Vincent to bring his older female cousin along for the date. It was perfect. The date ended up being a party of three.

The engagement

Vincent, from the beginning of the friendship, made his intentions to marry Meka clear. However, Meka, made him wait...3 years. It was important for her to see his character and integrity over time to be confident to take such a serious step. Vincent didn't mind the wait and he allowed God's timing to guide Him. After a vacation to visit Meka in Pemba, Vincent decided it was time to ask Meka again. She agreed it was time. Vincent, upon returning back home to South Africa decided he would propose to Meka during her layover from Pemba to the USA. On February 21st, which also is Meka's birthday, Vincent proposed during her 3 hour layover in the  Johannesburg international airport. Vincent found it fitting to propose at the airport's Mugg and Bean as it was where they met.
