How we met?

Yemi and Sarah met back in 2014. We had Sunday fun-day with mutual friends almost every Sunday and became really good friends. As our bond grew, Sarah and Yemi decided to go out on a first date. We both loved sushi and decided on a restaurant called Ocean Blue. We felt the vibe day one and had such a great night. We danced salsa all evening, ate good food, and the rest is history!

How he proposed?

Yemi and I were planning a get away to St Augustine for Easter week. I was working all the way up to the day we were suppose to leave so I thought I wasn’t going to see him until the day we were going to leave. My best friend Brandi told me that she had a very important ladies brunch the day before we left and she needed me to go with her. She told me I could NOT say no and that I had to make it happen. So, of course I did! I called out of work and made sure I was available. The day of the ladies brunch/surprise engagement, I was just getting off work that morning and I was debating whether or not I was really going to go. There were a few times I almost fell asleep, ha. This same day, Yemi told me that he was going to be looking at real estate with his dad and he was going to be busy all morning so of course we didn’t speak much. Never once did I think this was going to happen and I had absolutely no clue. Boy was I in for a surprise! Walking into this women’s brunch and seeing all our family and friends I shortly learned this was no women’s brunch! I remember walking through a crowd of all of our family and friends that led me to Yemi. He then poured his heart out and asked me to marry him.
