Ever since arriving in Zurich for the first time, we have both fallen in love with this city. Below you can find our tips and tricks for getting around the city, our favourite spots, and things so you can fall in love with the city too!

AIRPORT

Ever since Covid-19 restrictions were lifted, flying to Zurich was made easy. There are currently no entry restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No proof of vaccination, recovery or testing is required for entry into Switzerland.

Zurich International Airport is a:

-10 minute ride into the city center

-20 minute ride to The Dolder Grand

At immigration, be sure to fill in and keep your immigration card, as you will need it to return home! Due to the travel season and Covid-19 related safety protocols, we'd advise you to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your departure time

VISA REQUIREMENTS

When travelling to Switzerland, Indonesian passport holders must obtain a Schengen Visa.  Please click here for information on obtaining a Visa.

WEATHER IN SEPTEMBER

The climate in Zurich during September can be summarized as cool and chilly. Daytime maximum temperatures average around 21°C (69°F) falling to its lowest temperature at night which is 10°C (50°F).

The mornings can get a bit chilly, going all the way down in the evening, so do bring a light jacket

CURRENCY & TIPPING

The currency used in Switzerland is the Swiss Francs, and rarely is any other currency accepted.

The exchange rate is usually 10,000 IDR = 0.60 CHF

Though most establishments take credit card, be advised to have cash on you especially for street vendors. It's best to exchange money before you head over to Switzerland.

Tipping in Switzerland is usually 10%, it's not mandatory but its always nice to tip anyway :)

Café Felix

Café Felix is a laid back restaurant & guesthouse located in the picturesque town of Riebeek Kasteel. Our blackboard menu changes continuously depending on the type of fresh produce that is available locally. The menu has evolved slowly over time and today the cuisine at Café Felix can be described as French-Italian inspired country cuisine.

Honold

Founded in 1905 on Rennweg, Confiserie Honold is one of the oldest chocolate manufactures in Zurich. Today, they are still family-owned and run by the great-granddaughter of the company founder. Together with her team, she opened the manufactory and shop in Küsnacht in 2012. Here, our diverse range of products is made daily from high-quality ingredients and delivered to our six branches. Vi Cafe is a specialty coffee freshly roasted in Zurich. Take not that they only have coffees-to-go.

The John Baker bakery

The John Baker bakery treats bread lovers to a wide and creative variety of breads at Stadelhofen Train Station, just a stone’s throw from Bellevue and Sechseläutenplatz. For the kitchen team set great store by using regional and seasonal products. For example, in winter they do not make sunflower seed bread, and they culture their own yeast on the premises. Nutrition trends, such as vegan products or no-carb bread, are also taken very seriously, with the result that the bakery staff are always working on new recipes.

Incidentally, customers who dispense with a plastic bag are given a discount as a token of thanks for their eco-friendly behavior.

SWISS CHOCOLATE

Teuscher

Teuscher is considered one of the finest chocolates in the world because of the quality of our ingredients, as well as the integrity of our production. There are no additives, chemicals, or fillers used, and all chocolates are made with fair trade beans.

Läderach

Läderach is a Swiss chocolate and confectionary manufacturer based in Ennenda. It was founded in 1962 in Glarus by Rudolf Läderach. His patent for the process of manufacturing hollow, ready-made chocolate truffles revolutionized the fine chocolate industry.

Lindt Museum & Workshop

Experience the interactive world of chocolate for young and old. Rustic Swiss dishes & draft beers in a 15th-century building, with oak beams & historic artifacts. It is highly recommended to order Zurich Geschnetzeltes or Wienerschnitzel in this restaurant.

Rosalys

The ROSALY'S Restaurant & Bar is a Belgrill gastronomy company and has had its place as a restaurant & bar in the listed town house on Bellevue for 25 years. Vorderer Sterne

The world meets at the Sternen Grill at Bellevue Zurich. A definite must for first time visitors to Switzerland, indulge in these melted cheeses with a chilled glass of wine in a traditional Swiss setting.

The various creations on the menu are all suitable for sharing, so our guests can get to know the whole range of the Bauernschänke cuisine. If you don't want to share, you can of course put together your own menu. Baurs at Baur au lac

The Widder Bar is an institution of the Zurich bar scene. Oberer Letten

On hot summer days, water lovers can cool off by taking a dip in the River Limmat in the very heart of Zurich. The Oberer Letten riverside bathing facility is a popular meeting place, and features a 400 meter (1,312 ft) long swimming channel and a 2 meter (6.5 ft) high diving platform. There are also two beach volleyball courts and an area for playing boule on the opposite side of the river.

Seebad Utoquai

The wooden “Bathing Palace” on Utoquai has provided its guests with the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in Lake Zurich for over 120 years. They can jump or dive into the water from one of the diving boards and swim to the rafts anchored in the lake around 30 meters (98 ft) away. There are also two small pools for non-swimmers, one for men and one for women. The upper sun terraces are also partly separated by gender.

Frauenbad

The art nouveau open-air bathing facility at Stadthausquai still remains the exclusive domain of female guests to this day. Here women can swim while enjoying a fabulous view of the Grossmünster, the Wasserkirche, and the adjacent Old Town.

Paleontological Museum

Cultural & Visits

Grossmuenster Church

The Grossmünster church is a landmark of Zurich. Legend has it that the church was built on the graves of the city's patron saints, Felix and Regula.

Fraumuenster Church

The Fraumünster is a church in Zürich which was built on the remains of a former abbey for aristocratic women which was founded in 853 by Louis the German for his daughter Hildegard.

Pavillon Corbusier

The Pavillon Le Corbusier is a Swiss art museum in Zürich-Seefeld at Zürichhorn dedicated to the work of the Swiss architect Le Corbusier.
