The Reception

Algonquin Island Association

We are so excited to celebrate with you at the Algonquin Island Association.

Please arrive at the Algonquin Island Association by 3:30pm. Matt and Eva are having a private marriage ceremony and will be arriving at the AIA at 3:45pm.

We will have lawn games, drinks and some short speeches, followed by dinner around 6pm.

Following dinner, you can enjoy the sunset over the Toronto skyline and boogie down on the dance floor.

The bar will close around 11pm and we can all head over to the ferry for the last trip back to the city.

Feel free to send us an email if you have any questions!

Ferries

Getting to and from the Island via Ferry

Taking the ferry to the island will be the most reliable option, but will include a 10 minute walk from the ferry to the venue.  Ferry tickets are about $10 round trip.  You'll only need to display a ticket heading to the island.

Take the Wards Island ferry at 2:30pm or 3:00pm to ensure that you arrive on time to the Algonquin Island Association. Please book your tickets ahead of time to avoid a line, the ferries are busy in the summer. You'll be emailed the tickets and can show them on your phone.

When you get off the Wards Island ferry, take the path and head to the right (west).  You'll follow the path til you see a small pedestrian bridge to Algonquin Island.  When you get across the bridge, walk straight until you hit the lake and you can see the skyline.  Turn left and walk to the end.  You'll be at the Algonquin Island Association.

Water Taxies

Getting to and from the Island via Water Taxi

You can choose to take a water taxi to and from the AIA.  Water taxis cost ~$10 per person each way and only accept cash.

The water taxis will drop you off right at the AIA if you have a full boat of people going there.  You'll need about 10 people to fill a water taxi.  Otherwise, ask them to take you to Ward's Island and follow the same instructions for walking to the AIA as the ferry.

Please note: the Island gets very busy in the summer and the water taxi lines can be long.  Please try to get to the water taxi stations by 2:30 at the latest to get in line for a water taxi.

Getting Home

You can take a water taxi or the ferry home from the Island.

Please find Michelle if you're looking for a water taxi to leave.  They'll pick you up right from the AIA.

You can also walk to take the ferry home.  The last ferry leaves Wards Island at 11:30pm.  They run every 45 minutes up until the last ferry.
