Forest Park
Conveniently located across the street from the Chase Park Plaza, this beautiful St. Louis treasure rivals Central Park as one of the best urban parks in America.
Forest Park, site of the 1904 World's Fair, is home to world-class free attractions including the Saint Louis Art Museum (where Laura interned in college!), the Saint Louis Zoo, Missouri History Museum, and Saint Louis Science Center, as well as scenic walking paths and trails.
You can explore Forest Park by foot, bicycle, or the free Forest Park Shuttle bus. If you would like to explore by water, paddle boats are available to rent at The Boathouse at Forest Park, where you can also grab a bite to eat!
Missouri Botanical Garden
Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is another Saint Louis treasure and a Natioal Historic Landmark. You can visit the Climatron, a tropical rainforest under a geodesic dome; founder Henry Shaw's historic home; and Laura's favorite: the stunning 14-acre Seiwa-en Japanese Garden, the largest Japanese Garden in North America, where Laura's Uncle Greg works as a horticulturalist.
Hours: 9am to 5pm daily
Admission: $14 adults, free for children 12 and under
The Delmar Loop
The Delmar Loop is a historic and artistic neighborhood featuring a walkable strip of eclectic restaurants, shops and entertainment. The Loop is just a quick Lyft ride from the Chase Park Plaza. We suggest you start your walking tour at the Moonrise Hotel (which has a great rooftop bar!) and work your way west. Be sure to visit Blueberry Hill, a Saint Louis institution. You can also have your own Meet Me in Saint Louis moment on the new Loop Trolley. Enjoy!
Ted Drewes Frozen Custard
No trip to Saint Louis is complete without a visit to Ted Drewes! Try a blueberry oreo concrete, one of Laura's favorites, or the Muddy Mississippi, Matt's pick.
Childcare will be provided at the Chase Park Plaza during the ceremony and reception. Please let us know if you may be interested in this service by contacting melody@absolutelyin.com
