Flash back to the height of the pandemic...Everyone was working from home, the world was shut down, and social gatherings were no longer a thing. Seems like the ideal setting for meeting someone special and starting a new relationship...right?! LUCKILY, Luke and Alix both swiped right and took a chance on a first date - an absurdly early coffee and covid friendly walk outdoors. It only took rescheduling twice (from him being nervous) before finally showing up, thank goodness she held out and gave him a chance. The rest is history!
It all came together in Sitges, Spain, on Alix's first visit to Europe and the first of many overseas trips together. Setting the bar high! Their last evening in Spain began with sunset cocktails at the Sky bar across town. The walk to dinner was interrupted by a footwear blowout, but fortunately that didn't end the night early. An amazing dinner paired with some great wines made for a romantic evening. A quick pit stop back at the apartment to change Alix's shoes was where everything finally culminated. Waiting for Alix, Luke was caught up in the whole experience and decided on a change of plans. The perfect evening deserved the perfect ending - Luke was ready to take that chance in the moment, and Alix said YES! After a slightly teary photo op down at the beach, they celebrated at the club with a late night dance party to cap off the evening. A truly unforgettable trip!
Three days after the wedding, Luke and Alix are looking forward to an amazing honeymoon in New Zealand and Fiji. As travel is a priority for both of them, getting to go on a backpacking trip together was a must and will be an incredible introduction to married life. They are ready to experience all New Zealand and Fiji have to offer, from visiting the Shire (Lord of the Rings), to scuba diving their way through the depths of Fiji! Upon returning, they are looking forward to settling down in Calgary surrounded by family and friends, and, if they are fortunate enough, growing their own family. Luke and Alix are both grateful for your own part in their story and are very excited for the adventures ahead!
