She was the new Elementary Principal/PYP Coordinator. He was the PE teacher in High school. The entire 2017-2018 school year they played eye tag. He wanted to start dating, she wasn't ready.
"We had gone out dancing at the beginning of the school year September 2017. We had immediate chemistry. Afterwards, he kept asking my friends about me. I kept my distance. I didn't trust myself with him." - Lauren
"From the moment she arrived to school, I thought she was beautiful. I always noticed her at school, but she never noticed me. After dancing that first time, I felt so much chemistry. I always told her friend to say hi for me and asked her to find ways we could hang out in hopes to get to know her more. I liked her from the first time I met her." - Miguel
Their first formal date. He picked her up in his motorcycle and then together they climbed over 1,500 stairs to the top.
"The moment we got off his motorcycle, he kissed me, then took my hand as we crossed the street. I felt in an instant that he wanted to take care of me." -Lauren
"I was so nervous. After getting to the top, as I looked into her eyes and rosy cheeks, my heart beat faster and faster." - Miguel
The first time he brought her to meet his family, he surprised her with a serenade. He got his friends together and sang "La Consentida," which means "The Spoiled One" in English.
The chorus: "The truth is you are the spoiled one. I wouldn't change you for any other. I am going to wear a sign saying, "I've found what I've been looking for."

He doesn't just dance, he MOVES. Dancing is what they do on a weekly basis, even if just in the living room. They move perfectly together.
"He is my favorite person to follow. I fall in love each time I dance with him. Ayyyy papi" -Lauren
Dancing is something we are both passionate about. We laugh and love to invent steps. I always love dancing with her because she knows how to follow my steps (which isn't easy). We love dancing salsa, reggeaton and bachata. She moves her hips in a way that makes me say "Ayyyy mami." - Miguel
He loves Soccer "Futból" and she loves watching him play.
"I love how he is so passionate about futból and encourages his teammates. They all value and respect him so much." - Lauren
"I love it when she accompanies me and watches me play because it motivates me to play my best. I feel supported by her and with each goal I make, I send her our special hand sign, and she sends it back. She loves that I do that, and I love making her happy." - Miguel
They never stop laughing. They never stop teasing (maybe Miguel more than Lauren) They never stop smiling. They value the important things and live life trying to project positive energy.
"He always finds a way to make me laugh, even when I want to kill him (amooorrrr). He has helped me to lighten up more and be more flexible. He doesn't sweat the small stuff and loves me for who I am on my best days and even more on my worst days." - Lauren
"I love bothering her. I am a bit of a pain in the butt and I do different things that make her laugh, which makes me happy. However, my true happiness is being able to tell her every day that I love her with all my heart and soul. She always takes care of me, supports me, values me and respects me." - Miguel
Home is where ever family is and where ever they are together. There is no specific "place" that is home except for this beautiful planet, Earth. Exploring it, and learning about new people and cultures is one thing they love to do. This is just one way they continue to grow, learn, and be a citizen of this world.
This country has had some bad rep because of its past. However, just like every country on this pale blue dot, it is beautiful. It is a hidden treasure with some of the most caring and happiest people, delicious food, and breath taking landscapes.
He grew up in a small mountainous town about three hours outside of Bogotá called Puente Nacional. Check it out below.
