How We Met!

Leslie and Garrett connected on Bumble through a simple message, “hihi.” On their first date at Herbie’s in Clayton, Missouri (which lasted over three hours), they met outside, when it suddenly started to rain. Lightly at first, and then a little harder. The waitress asked if they would like to go inside and Garrett responded, “We’re fine.” Leslie was not fine. It was raining on her freshly blown-out blonde locks. Leslie was concerned that her hair would be ruined and pressed Garrett to move them inside. They moved inside.

After wine glass and San Pellegrino #2, Garrett ordered beets and brussels sprouts despite Leslie’s “drinks only” rule on first dates, which had her concerned. Garrett asked if she liked beets, and she responded, “I love beets!” She did not love beets. She had never had beets. Now Leslie loves beets.

Before their second date, Leslie cancelled on Garrett. She was scrubbed into the Operating Room and chose her patient over her future husband. Garrett had a “one cancellation” policy and luckily, she rescheduled. Otherwise, we fear that the guests reading this may have never been invited to this fabulous Hawaiian wedding excursion.

Over the course of the next two years, Garrett and Leslie travelled to two foreign countries (Portugal and Mexico), enjoyed countless adventures (Taylor Swift in Los Angeles, Alabama football, Napa Valley, and New York/Naples (FL) multiple times), as well as many times that strengthened their relationship. Year 3 has already begun with a trip to Hawaii to continue planning their wedding next June. They truly are two peas in a pod, and one day, maybe there will be a third or fourth pea. The world’s bougiest child ever birthed.

Leslie and Garrett appreciate you travelling such a long distance to join them on their special day, and they thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
