When do I need to RSVP?

Please RSVP by 1st June 2023.

What should I wear?

For the Saturday, the dress code is semi-formal. Keep an eye on the weather forecast and make sure to wear something you'll be happy dancing in! For footwear, please note that the walk up to the church is quite steep, and that stilettos may sink in the grass at the Great Barn.

For the Sunday BBQ, dress code is casual. Remember to bring swimwear and a towel if you'd like to use the pool.

Do let us know if you have any questions or worries about what to wear.

Can I take photographs?

During the ceremony, we would appreciate it if phones are turned off and put away. We will have a professional photographer and will make photographs available after the event for those who would like a copy.

At the reception, you're welcome to take your own pictures within reason, but we would much prefer that you focus on enjoying the day. There will also be a photographer and photobooth. Pictures will be shared with guests after the event.

Are children invited?

Due to capacity constraints and the structure of the day, children are unfortunately not able to join for our celebrations on the Saturday.

If you have children and would like to bring them for the Sunday BBQ, they are more than welcome.

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to the capacity of the space, plus ones who have not already received an invite unfortunately will not be able to join. If this will be an issue for you, do let us know, but please be aware we are very limited on space.

How do I get there?

The nearest train station is Exeter St Davids, which is approx 20 minutes drive from the Great Barn. Trains from London Paddington take between 2 and 3 hours and are fairly regular.

There is parking at the venue and cars can be left overnight if you would prefer to take a taxi to your accommodation. There are plenty of taxi providers, but please make sure taxis are booked well in advance. Numbers for taxi companies in the area are included on our transport and accommodation page.

For international guests, Exeter and Bristol airports are both accessible, although the train from London is very manageable if flights to London are more convenient.

Where should I stay?

There are lots of accommodation options in the area. The venue is on Dartmoor, so if you are able to stay, it's a beautiful area to spend some time.

For specific accommodation suggestions, please use the transport & accommodation page.

You are also welcome to camp onsite on Saturday night. Indoor toilets will be left open overnight, but please be aware that there are no shower facilities.

What can I do in the area?

Dartmoor is extraordinarily beautiful and well worth exploring if you have the time. There are many hikes of varying lengths and difficulty. Walking routes can be accessed here.

There are lots of pretty towns and villages to explore, as well as some fantastic country pubs. More information about the area can be accessed here.

If you are coming through Exeter, a visitor guide is available here.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are very welcome to join us on the Sunday for our BBQ.
