He Said: I was at a happy hour and I saw this tall woman across the room. And I said to my friend, “I have to go meet her.” Because she was standing with a group of friends, I figured I had to diffuse the situation by charming them all so they wouldn’t do that thing girls do where they collectively reject the suitor.
Somehow it worked and she agreed to go on an adventure with me.
She Said: In 2013, I was out with friends for a going away party during Memorial Day Weekend. A group of guys came over and starting chatting with everyone. They even offered a round of drinks.Moments later, Ansu walked in and introduced me to his friend Goke.
He Said: Hey Ya’ll We Getting Married!
She Said: I came back to visit New York and went to a party with my girls.Later, we decided to venture to another spot to meet up with Ansu and his friends. When we showed up, Goke was on a date with another woman. He was flirting with me the entire time. By the end of the night, he only had eyes for me. :)
He Said: After work one night we decided to order Chinese food, while waiting, a conversation about Christmas stockings turned into a proposal.
She Said: I checked the mail as I’d ordered Goke’s Christmas gift. I never check the mail. Instead of his gift, I found a box of Christmas stockings with our monograms on them.
Although super sweet, it seemed odd and I had QUESTIONS. After a barrage of questioning, Goke ended the night down on one knee with a beautiful ring on my finger.
He Said: Winter Wonderland in Philadelphia
She Said: Universal Studios in Hollywood and then the Hot Chocolate Nutcracker by the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
He Said: We already had it.
She Said: Goke will say we already had our honeymoon, but what he's actually referring to is my Christmas Gift/birthday trip to Thailand -- which was amazing!
However, for our honeymoon, I'd sincerely love to explore the continent of Africa - specifically, Kenya and/or South Africa.
