Once upon a time, a boy named Fernando lived in a black and white world until one day, he met Leilani who brought colors into his life.
It all began in the Spring of 2014 during a dance lesson where he was partnered with her to dance beginner level Kizomba. At that time, he was too shy to start a conversation, but he knew then that she would change his life for the better.
He kept going to the weekly dance lesson because he knew she would be there as she loved to dance and was determined to get better, still he struggled to strike a conversation and show his interest after numerous opportunities. :(
Weeks later, he saw her and her friends at Dave & Busters for Latin dance night, as always she looked beautiful and full of joy. After taking a shot of tequila with his best friend Erik and taking a deep breath, he finally built up the courage to go talk to her and ask her for a social dance. He slowly walked over to her as a Bachata song started playing, and sure enough the second before he was about to tap her on the shoulder, she got swept away by another great dancer without her noticing him. In the middle of the dance floor, lonely and heart-broken, he quickly made a u-turn back to the bar for another shot of tequila. :(
Moments later after the song ended, she walked over to where he was standing, her friends joined her and they started laughing out loud for some unknown reason. Call it fate or destiny, but this is when the unbelievable happened, the gum she was chewing on came flying out of her mouth and landed directly in front of him. Both making eye contact, she noticed that he noticed, and he noticed that she noticed that he noticed, and without skipping a beat before it became awkward, he simply smiled and handed her a new piece of gum. In his eyes, this was the moment she really noticed him.
They danced many times; shortly thereafter, they won the Bachata dance contest and the rest is history. The more time they spent together, the more they realized that they were perfect for each other.
Fast forward to 2020, their love has grown exponentially and together they have built a colorful life full of goals, dreams and passions.
They both vow to continue making great memories and sharing them with the rest of the world.
