Hint: You will need reservations at some of them!
From fried seafood to gourmet coastal cuisine, these are some of our tried and true favorite restaurants in the Pawley's Island area. Click on each title to link to the website.
A favorite for crab cakes and grouper, but they have a wide variety. Frank's has been here since 1988, and they've expanded into multiple dining areas. This place is always busy. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED.
Excellent She Crab soup, and they even offer it as a tiny sip! Such a wonderful restaurant. Much smaller than Frank's, so RESERVATIONS REQUIRED early.
Yummy cheddar biscuits and a great cocktail menu. Lots of variety in the menu. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED.
Locally called The PIT. It kind of looks like a pit with dollar bills attached to every wall and ceiling! Delicious fried seafood baskets and lots of different kinds of beer. This place can get loud, and does not take reservations.
Now this is an institution. It's been in operation by the same family for 75 years! Eating at Lee's is like stepping back into the seafood restaurants of the 50's and 60's, and their hushpuppies are some of the best! It's a huge restaurant and reservations are not accepted or needed.
A little farther up the road from Lee's is this more rustic and smaller fried seafood favorite. They really have the lightest, most delicious batter on their shrimp. They do not take reservations, but if you want fried shrimp, it's worth the wait.
Beautiful gardens and sculptures in a timeless lowcountry setting.
Located within Huntington Beach State Park, this National Historic Landmark was the winter home of Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, the founders of Brookgreen Gardens. If it's open, it's a fascinating place to explore.
Wander along the waterfront main street of this charming, historic coastal town!
