Things to do
Leon's
Amazing fried chicken and oysters. Cool atmosphere, great food. You cannot go wrong here.
167 Raw
An amazing, Nantucket-style seafood restaurant with some of the best lobster rolls and shrimp tacos we’ve had. They don’t take reservations so this would be a good early evening, Thursday night spot!
Callie's Hot Little Biscuits
Didn’t get enough at the Welcome Party or Reception? Callie’s Hot Little Biscuits is open till 3 am and hits the spot when you’ve had, ahem, a few drinks throughout the night. They’re open for breakfast too!
Chubby Fish
Fresh seafood on a quaint corner in downtown CHS. Sitting at the chef's counter is best, watch what they make and order more as you go!
Revelry Brewing Co
One of the most fun breweries in town! Great beers, a rooftop bar, and normally a good band. A good place to spend some time if you’re into the craft beer scene.
The Gin Joint
A great place for craft cocktails in Charleston. We're big gin lovers so we're fans...beware though, they have other spirits but no vodka
Cocktail Club
Another great spot for a cocktail that's cozy and intimate. A must try! And right on King street, so it's conveniently located as well.
The Commodore
Off the beaten path a bit in downtown Charleston, but once you get inside, you're guaranteed a good time of live music and dancing.
Old Exchange Building
The Old Exchange is one of the most visited historic sites in Charleston, both for its grand stature as one of the colonies’ earliest statuesque public buildings, and its unique array of interior assets – including the famous Provost Dungeon in the basement of the building.
Fort Sumter National Monument
This is the storied spot of the first clash between the Union and Confederate armies in the Civil War. Can only get to it by boat and must book a tour.
Battery Park & White Point Gardens
Leah grew up coming here with her parents. Over many centuries, the Battery has seen many wars, such as the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War and was even the hanging grounds for famous pirate Stede Bonnet, among others. Pick up fresh baguette sandwiches for picnic supplies from Fast & French on nearby Broad Street, and slow down to Southern time under the shady oaks.
