Alyse is my youngest sister and my best friend! Hands down, she’s my ride or die! Whenever I needed Alyse, she was there for me and it’s been that way since 1991! What I love most about my sister is that she puts her all into everything she seeks to do and expects that same energy from others. I know that our wedding is going to be a great time, and I am grateful that I’ve got Lysie by my side to help me plan and implement all my crazy ideas.
Dana is my oldest sister, and most certainly the most level headed of us Miller Girls. She is really one of the best people I know. I can call her for the most outlandish requests and she always has a solution or offers her help. From custom invitations and announcements, to gifts for Josiah’s teacher at the last minute, Dana always holds it down. So grateful to have her by my side on this next adventure!
Tiana is such a dope big sister! She’s always been someone I can cry with, laugh with, have fun with, and confide in. Growing up, Tiana was my lifeline - braiding my hair, going shopping with me, and of course hitting up all the neighborhood basement parties (IYKYK). Really though, I’ve always looked up to Tiana and appreciate having her by my side. I can’t wait to turn it up at the Ruth wedding!
Upgrading our status to official sisters and I can’t wait! Elyse, better known as Stink, is really one of one! She’s kind, she’s generous, and she doesn’t play about her family. Stink is also crazy talented and creative - a jack of all trades. She’s held it down for Isaiah and I at every celebration with planning, executing, and decorating, exceeding even my own vision. I couldn’t do this without her!
Shannel and me…boy where do I begin? Best big cousin hands down! Shannel used to babysit me and Lysie after school and it’s how we got really close. I wanted to copy everything Shannel did, which ironically enough she hated (I knew just how far I could go before I annoyed her!) Shannel would make sure I stayed fly, kept me privy to the latest songs and dances, and even took me to my first club! We’ve got stories for days. So cheers to another epic turn up!
Paris is like the ying to my yang, the cheese to my macaroni - we’ve always been closer than close (Fun Fact: She was born just 2 weeks before me). When you saw Paris you saw me, and vice versa because I refused to do anything without her around. My best memories include all the indoor concerts we had after choreographing new dances in the basement, all the Scream Tours we attended, the basement parties, and really growing into the women we are today. I just know we are going to cut the rug up at the wedding and I can’t wait.
David is one of my oldest friends. We legit go way back! I’m talking 28 years back! Dance partners, thought partners, turn up partners - we literally did everything together growing up ensuring that our relationship will continue to withstand the test of time. Not to mention, David is the best Godfather Josiah could ever ask for. I’m looking forward to all the dance battles we’ll have at the Ruth Wedding!
I met Liz through Isaiah. And I am so thankful for all the double dates and couples trips because it’s brought us closer. Liz holds it down and will be there for me in an instant if I needed her. There’s not a single milestone that’s passed in mine or Josiah’s life that she’s missed! Liz is my go to for mommy advice, life advice, and fashion advice because she is the one of the realest and dopest people in my corner. I know she’ll make sure I look my best on my special day and I can’t wait
I met Jayla 5 years ago when she began working at Spark Academy! Jayla quickly became my thought partner, my motivator, and my friend. During the pandemic we both served as GLCs, and would consistently collaborate with each other. This is when I learned that Jay was a real one and that she'd be my friend for a lifetime. She kept me focused on the goals I set for myself and held me accountable with a little bit of that tough love and lots of encouragement. I certainly couldn’t do this without her.
Big BRO!! Buck is the epitome of a leader! Growing up in a fatherless home, it’s very easy to be misguided or a product of your environment. Buck not only led by example, but paved the way to make my road to what I deemed success runnable. To be “THAT GUY” and Mr. Valedictorian is unheard of in my community especially when you look like the slave catchers description of trouble. Forever grateful for all this man did and all the times he’s supported and put the fam on his back. I’m forever in debt and can’t wait to continue to make memories at the wedding!
Mark! My Guy! It’s literally impossible to know me without knowing him. Blood wouldn’t make us any closer, at least I don’t think so haha. We met in college, but didn’t really come close until my 21st bday celebration in Vegas. Since then, it’s been all love. As a man to trust a guy with mental and emotional support where I’m from and how I was raised just simply ain’t the way. Our brotherhood is over a decade now and the loyalty and bond is only stronger!
5ive Allllive! Legit this is the only cousin Alayna has even hung out with, which speaks volumes considering we met in 2014! Legit one of the funniest people I know! Some of my greatest moments and memories of growing up, Skillz was there. We always held each other down no matter what it was, is, and “boutta” be! Family is more than being related and I’m forever grateful for our bond and your loyalty.
My Ace! Dev and I crossed the burning sands in 2011 and have been bros ever since. I value good people. Growing up, I haven’t seen the majority of the people that look like me genuinely want well for the next without being envious or wanting something from that person. If you know me, that’s exactly how I rock so to meet someone literally identical with me in that capacity, I’m blessed to have you in my life. This guy legit supports anything that has substance. Chetanna!!! My brother from another! We met in college and you been real since. Montclair State is pretty diverse, but often times we flock to those like us. Chet is a historian when it comes to music. This is the guy responsible for me appreciating J. Cole…not the new J. Cole that everyone knows but The Come Up, The Warm Up, Friday Night Lights…that Cole. That’s my favorite rapper to this day! The level of Loyalty and brotherhood doesn’t go unnoticed and most of all you always been real and consistent and can’t wait to turn up with you my boy.
My bro from another! We met during our line of work, and I never would’ve imagined we’d grow a brotherhood to the level we are at. You’ve been real since day 1! For you to display “I am my brother’s keeper” before we were even brothers and having me and my fam back I am forever in debt. HERE WE GO!!! Broski! We met during our line of work and I definitely didn’t think our bond would be as strong as it is now. It’s funny because at work I don’t really trust/get that close to people. I come in, keep it cordial and then keep it pushing. The funny thing is you admitted to being the same way, and it was really a matter of feeling each other out. I always noticed how you were a father figure to so many, helped so many, and your work ethic (coached ya ass off to turn the school’s football program completely around). It took one hangout to realize you were a real one! From then it’s been up and even traveled for my best friend’s bachelor festivities to show us around. Like what!!? Mr. Yessssirrr and AYOOOO!!! I don’t think anyone would understand how real this guy is unless ya’ll had the luxury of being around him! Since day 1 my boy has always shown love. From the pledging days, to getting me a job at the mall, discount/hookups, to consistently making sure I’m good at work. This guy would legit notice if I had a crazy schedule and no lunch or my seltzer water and sneak out to go and get me something and be like yo it’s in the fridge. I’m consistently fighting him and telling him to chill no matter what it is, he’s legit trying to figure out how to make my situation better. I have legit a million stories of how much bro comes through at the drop of a dime. We were out of town, on spring break and needed service at our house at 9am…mind you on break…I called bro before anyone else to go and let the people in to monitor the house…he not only came through but at one point even had to go to Home Depot for things to be completed without extra fees etc. Again, this is only a snippet and I am forever in debt!
