I am on vacation in Gran Canaria with my friend Emma when I get a superlike on Tinder (the app I had deleted and swore never to use again).
That like lead to nights of dancing, karaoke singing and days at the beach.
Suddenly I was in the arms of a tall, dark and handsome stranger, who just happened to live in The Netherlands. And the rest is history...

Back in our countries, it did not take long for me to book that first flight to Stockholm. Within two weeks there was our first rendezvous. Just a 43 hour visit, but one that led to many more.

Two weeks after our first weekend in Stockholm it was my turn to visit Orhan in the Netherlands. As the Dutch he is, he of course took me on my first winter bike ride. I also visited the famous bar “The Square” and we spent our first Valentine’s Day together, him playing and me watching him play, soccer.

After though negotiations I finally had my man in Stockholm, but that deal also included getting a new family member - a kitten.

After numerous reminders of what is the most important in her life, the moment was there to confirm that it is going to happen. After sneaking the ring into our luggage, a proposal was made on one of the most beautiful locations of the world: Whitehaven beach in Australia.
On the boat towards the island the tour guide asked if someone was planning to propose (as if she could read my mind). On a walk to an amazing lookout point over the island with just the two of us, the moment was there. Putting my camera on a bench, pretending as a picture would be made, I kneeled down and popped the question. My heart was pumping and arms were shaking, but luckily everything turned out well :) This whole happening was witnessed by a man, who was hiding away to not ruin the moment. It is all recorded and we will always enjoy watching it.
Relieved after hearing her say ''YES!'', we could look forward to an even more beautiful day!
