About the Resort
The 165 acre property perches one thousand feet above the Arenal Valley on a mountain ridge just six kilometers north of the active volcano Arenal, but safely outside the government declared danger zone. The hotel’s higher altitude relative to other hotels in the area allows for not only incomparable views of the Arenal Volcano, the lush Arenal River Valley, and the surrounding towns that sparkle at night. The town of La Fortuna is less than 20 minutes drive away.
The resort has a lot to offer! With spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano, natural hot and cold springs, five unique dining experiences, an impressive full-service spa, and an outdoor adventure center, there is no shortage of fun for everyone. To Stay or Not to Stay...
We realize that the cost of staying at The Springs is a bit pricey and may be more than some guests feel comfortable spending. Please don't let the cost of our venue deter you from attending! There are AMAZING Airbnb's in the area, as well as a number of beautiful and affordable hotels (we recommend checking out the Tabacon Hotel, only 13 minutes away). We want our wedding to be a stress-free vacation in paradise for everyone! If you think you may be interested in finding accommodations outside The Springs Resort, please let us know if you need any assistance traveling to and from the wedding. It's important that our guests' time in Costa Rica is as enjoyable as possible, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Hot Springs & Pools
Free form, landscaped pools provide guests with great views of the volcano and a multitude of options for relaxation. With temperatures ranging from 83 degrees Fahrenheit to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and environments that vary from raging waterfalls to tranquil forest experiences, guests can find the perfect pool for their mood and the current weather conditions. Tests of the hot mineral springs reveal an ideal natural combination of high bicarbonate and high chlorides with relatively low sulfur content to provide a safe and clean soaking experience.
**Any guest not staying at the resort can purchase a day pass to enjoy the hot springs at a discounted rate of $45 per person. **
Sanctuary Spa & Fitness Center
The fourteen thousand square foot full-service luxury Spa is committed to providing unique and relaxing treatments to replenish your mind, body and soul. Massages, facials, body wraps, manicures and pedicures are offered in a luxurious and holistic setting administered by trained professionals with the latest technology. The Spa menu utilizes tropical botanical ingredients indigenous to Costa Rica as well as a variety of therapeutic volcanic clays harvested from the property.
Club Rio Adventure Center
Club Rio Outdoor Center is located directly below the resort along a mile long stretch of the Arenal River. Club Rio is perfect for all ages and is a “Must See” amenity of the resort. Some of these tours and activities include Inflatable River Kayaking, River Tubing, Horseback Riding, Rock Climbing and Rappelling, Wildcat Feeding, Nature Tours, Hiking, and Fishing.
Animal Sanctuary
Club Rio features Arenal’s finest animal sanctuary. In conjunction with the MINAE (Ministry of the Environment and Energy) the resort operates a preserve for Costa Rican wildlife that have been confiscated from poachers or donated by other private reserves, rescue centers or individuals. The Wildlife Sanctuary Tour gives guests the opportunity to experience a large array of Costa Rican wildlife living in beautiful, natural habitats all in one easily accessible location.
