During Laura's junior year and Ryan's Senior year at Wake Forest University, Ryan's roommate (and co-best man) had a crush on one of Laura's friends and got a group together to hang out. We hit it off right away and had the most fun night. We ended up taking this selfie that night!
On Ryan's fraternity's beach weekend trip, Ryan officially asked Laura to be his girlfriend! Since no acceptable pictures from that weekend exist, this is a picture of us a few years later in Jamaica.
Laura visited Ryan for the first time at his parents house in Chevy Chase, Maryland and Ryan showed Laura around his old stomping grounds.
Ryan visited Laura in Pittsburgh for the first time to celebrate her 21st birthday! They celebrated with Laura's family and Laura's matron of honor Mikayla.
Laura graduated from undergrad and Ryan graduated from his masters program at Wake Forest University. Ryan moved to Washington, DC and started his job at Geico while Laura stayed at Wake Forest to get her masters in Accounting.
After a year of long-distance visiting each other in Winston-Salem and DC, Laura graduated from her master's program and accepted a job with Ernst and Young.
Ryan and Laura moved in to their first apartment together in Washington DC!
Ryan and Laura spent the next few years working, with friends and traveling around the world - Jamaica, Easter Island, South Africa, Hawaii (pictured here!) and many more.
Ryan suggested that the two of them take off a Friday from work to spend time together and have a picnic on the rooftop of their apartment building. When they got to the rooftop, Ryan had set up a table with flowers, champagne, pictures of the two of them over the years and of course a bottle of tequila. Ryan got down on one knee and Laura said YES!
