Covid-19 Post Update

Hi All,
We hope everyone is staying safe & healthy! We also appreciate the people that have reached out to us, as we all try to get through this. The facetimes, calls, and texts have definitely helped. Thank you!

So here is the plan, and bare with us... out of all the bridal magazines Lauren has read and Pinterest boards she has created... there isn't a play book on "how to post pone your destination wedding due to Coranavirus." ha ha...

Plan A: We pray that by August life will be back to normal but of course, things are still very unknown. Our new date is AUGUST 6-10th. Essentially all events would be swapped to new dates.
· Thursday, August 6th- Welcome Cocktail Hour
· Friday, August 7th- Rehearsal (for wedding party)/ Brew's Before I Do's (all are welcome)
· Saturday, August 8th- Wedding, Mon!
· Sunday, August 9th- Bon Voyage Cruise

Plan B: Or should we call it plan Z. Because this is a worst case scenario which would be OCTOBER 11th-14th. We know these dates aren't ideal (during the week), but as you can imagine trying to coordinate multiple property availabilities makes options very limited. The events would fall like the following.
· Sunday, October 11th- Welcome Cocktail Hour
· Monday, October 12th (Columbus Day)- Rehearsal (for wedding party)/ Brew's Before I Do's (all are welcome)
· Tuesday, October 13th- Wedding, Mon Cruise

We of course understand that if people can't make new dates due to previous commitments or can't block off both dates. With that said, we will plan for PLAN A! As we watch how things play out the next month, if we feel we need to postpone to October, we will relay that information by May 15. This will give us multiple months to change around plans if needed if you are able to attend.

Flight Info: I believe many of you have taken the step to get a hold of your respective airline and cancel your flight to receive either a refund or credit. If you are flying Southwest (which many guests are) it is easy to make those arrangements right on the app. Simply cancel the current reservation for April, make a note of the flight confirmation # cancelation, and rebook to new dates. You can also change current reservation if you haven't already cancelled to new dates. Normally, Southwest will offer you a credit valid 12 months after initial booking. They have extended this policy and your credits will now expire in June 2021.

Hotel Info: If you are booked at Tensing Pen, Harian has automatically transferred all current reservations to the new dates in August. If you need to cancel/change your reservation, please reach out to her directly at weddings@tensingpen.com (and kindly let us know). We also now have three potential new room availabilities that weren't previously available in April. If you are attending the wedding weekend and didn't have a chance to stay at Tensing Pen previously due to it being booked, reach out to us directly!

If you have booked at Catcha Falling Star, they will transfer your current reservation to a new reservation. Reach out to catchafallingstar2@gmail.com directly and have the subject say Attention Cassandra and she will take care of that for you.

If you are staying at LTU Garden, please email her directly with your new dates and she will take care of moving the reservation. Kerry Ann can be reached at ltugardennegril@gmail.com.

If you are staying at the Llantrissant BeachCliff (wedding house), the reservation has automatically been transferred to the same dates Thursday-Monday.

Finally! We will reset our guest RSVP on our website to the new date for AUGUST. No rush, but if you could kindly let us know by June 1st if you can make it, that would be appreciated. Please find that at: www.LandJGusanders.com
We think that covers it. We appreciate your love, support and flexibility. We can't wait to be all be together again and "Everything little thing gonna be alright."

Irie,
Lauren & Jon

Transportation

Airport Transfers

Mr. Godwin, is a fully licensed and insured driver, and will get you and yours safely to and from Sangster International Airport.  He has been hired to coordinate all transfers from Montego Bay/Negril.  Add Godwin on Whatsapp or send him an email directly with all your flight information. He will be tracking each flight. He will be coordinating with other people arriving and departing at similar times. Chances are someone else will be on your flight in or leaving at the same time. If you need to wait a few minutes, there is a bar right outside the baggage claim outside. Please note all airport transfers will be $20 USD/per person (1.5 hour journey). This is a negotiated lower rate, so if you feel inclined to give gratuity, it is always appreciated in Jamaica.

Note: When you exit the airport look for a Godwin transportation sign. If for some reason you do not see Godwin. Ask anyone at the Groovy Grouper bar and they will call him.

Taxi Cabs are plentiful and suitable from Negril off any of the main roads. Always negotiate the rate BEFORE beginning the ride. Only travel in licensed/insured taxi cabs, all identified by their RED license plates

Feeling adventurous? Like Jon in this photo? You can rent mopeds locally to get around Negril. Contact their friend, Fross on WhatsApp and he can get you in touch with the rental company: 1876-464-8531. He is also trustworthy and knowledgeable tour guide.

Things to Pack for Jamaica

Packing tips

These are some items that Jon & Lauren have found useful in Jamaica:

-PASSPORT

-Water shoes

-Sunscreen

-Bug spray and bug bite spray

-Bug Spray repelling wristbands

-Lip balm with SPF

-Aloe Vera

-Goggles

-Motion sickness meds (if needed for boating)

-Portable water bottle

-Waterproof bag or pouch

-Camera with charging cords

-Lighters (hard to find in Jamaica if you need one)

-Cash

Currency

Jamaica’s currency is the Jamaican Dollar although the USD is widely accepted and most restaurants/bars/shops/excursion companies accept credit cards. Jon and Lauren recommend exchanging currency with your local bank prior to arriving to Jamaica as you will get the the best value using their dollar compared to ours.

Do NOT exchange money at the Montego Bay Airport as they do not offer competitive exchange rates.

Kid-Friendly Activities

Our wedding venue, Llantrissant, will be open and available to our guests beginning Wednesday through Friday. Unlike Tensing Pen, Llantrissant is more beach than cliff, with the property being flanked by two shallow, beautiful beaches. Kayaks and paddle boards will also be available.      BYO floaties

Margaritaville along with other main bars/restaurants on 7 mile beach had many water activities and things to do with your kids!
