We will continue to update this section as details firm up but here's what we know so far...
The ceremony will begin in the late afternoon (exact time TBC). Dinner, drinks, and dancing to follow the ceremony.
Adults-only, please and thank you! We love your kids, but thought you could use some time off! We hope you will see this as an opportunity to fully relax and enjoy the party with us!
Wear whatever makes you feel great!
Anything from a sequin mini to a floor length gown works for the ladies. We recommend that gents wear a suit so you don't look like a schlub next to your lady!
This will be an outdoor garden party so we (mainly Snejana) encourage dressing in a fun color similar to the color palette below (and/or in floral patterns).
Things to keep in mind:
1. The weather in Sorrento in May is in the mid 70s during the day and drops into the 60s in the evening so please be prepared. Bring a jacket, shawl, or your finest faux fur.
2. A majority of the grounds are grassy gardens and there will be lots of dancing so plan your heel choice accordingly. If you choose to wear heels, make sure you bring flats too.

Pompeii
We will be arranging a group tour of the ancient ruins of Pompeii. Led by an archaeologist guide, we will explore the ruins and discover what life was like before the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.

PASSPORT INFO
You do not need a visa to travel to Italy but you must have a valid passport! A valid passport is one that it is not set to expire for at least 6 months from your date of travel.
Even with expedited processing, getting a new or replacement passport can take about 3 months so please locate your passport and check check the expiration date right away OR apply for a new one ASAP! You can easily apply for a passport at the post office. If you are running short on time, we recommend googling "expedited passport processing" to find an agency near you that can help you further expedite the process for an additional fee. We have used agencies like this in the past and they were super helpful!
OTHER DOCUMENTS
ALL TRAVELERS entering Italy will need to fill out a Passenger Locator Form prior to their arrival.
ALL PASSENGERS traveling to Italy must fill out a Passenger Declaration Form prior to their arrival.
COVID SAFETY & REGULATIONS
As of November 1, 2021, these are the COVID rules and restrictions when traveling from the US to Italy:
VACCINATED TRAVELERS must show proof of vaccination AND a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of departing from the US. Even if visitors are vaccinated, they must obtain a negative COVID test 72 hours before their arrival in Italy.
UN-VACCINATED TRAVELERS will have to show a negative COVID test taken within 24 hours of departure from the US. Once they arrive in Italy, travelers will need to “self-isolate” for five days. At the completion of the 5 day isolation period, travelers will need to take a second COVID test.
As of November 1, 2021, these are the COVID rules and restrictions when traveling from Italy back into the US:
VACCINATED TRAVELERS will need to show proof of vaccination AND a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of departure from Italy.
UN-VACCINATED TRAVELERS will need to show a negative COVID test that was taken within 24 hours of departure from Italy.
We will update this information if it changes between November and May but we recommend that you also keep an eye on the US Embassy in Italy's website and the Italian Ministry's website, as well as pay attention to any information provided by the airline that you will be flying with.
AIRPORTS
In the following sections you'll find information on the two international airports we recommend flying into - Rome & Naples. If you have any questions or just want to talk through itinerary options, please give us a call! We're happy to help.
The closest international airport is Naples (NAP), which is approximately 45 mins by taxi or shuttle. There are some additional options you can explore by clicking on the link below.
Getting from Naples Airport to Sorrento
As we get closer to May, we may be able to arrange a shuttle, depending on when guests will arrive.
We DO NOT recommend renting a car and trying to drive. The road to Sorrento is extremely narrow and parking is close to impossible (and expensive!). Save yourself a major headache and do not rent a car.
Another option for guests wanting to explore more of Italy - you can fly into Rome (FCO) and explore for a few hours or days! When ready, take the high speed train through Naples and onto Sorrento. Train times average between 2.5 - 3.5 hrs and there several per day. You can also take a short flight (about 45 min) from Rome to Naples.
We DO NOT recommend renting a car and trying to drive from Rome to Sorrento. It is a long journey and Italian roads are often narrow and extremely hard to navigate.
If you are going to fly into Rome and explore, we recommend that you make the journey down to Sorrento on Wednesday or Thursday morning, at the latests, so you can arrive in time for the Welcome Party on Thursday night.
Here's a travel engine where you can book flights, trains, and buses within Italy.

Your presence is our gift! Buuuuuut if you feel compelled to get us an additional gift, we have registered for some fun experiences that we can enjoy together.
We're lucky to already have a home full of everything we need (and Matt is a minimalist so additional "stuff" is strictly forbidden), so in lieu of physical gifts, we kindly ask that you help us continue making special memories together by sending us to things like wine tastings, cooking classes, football games, and even our dream safari honeymoon!
