Wedding Event Questions

What should I wear?

The dress code is Tropical Elegance.

We’d love for you to embrace the beauty of Sayulita with attire that’s elevated yet comfortable for the warm coastal air. Here’s how to shine in the vibrant ambiance of our celebration:

Men - Lightweight jackets (tie optional), dress pants or slacks, button-down shirts, and closed-toed shoes. No open-toed shoes or shorts, please.

Women - Chic midi dresses or Flowy Maxi dresses, jumpsuits, wedges or block sandals (we will be on grass for the ceremony). Bring a light shawl or wrap for the evening breeze.

Tropical colors or patterns are welcomed but not required.

Are the wedding and reception at the resort?

No, neither are. The wedding & reception will both be held at a venue called “Don Pedro's Brisa Mar Palapa” approximately 20 minutes away from the Iberostar resort in a little surf town called Sayulita.

How will I get to and from the wedding and reception?

For those of you staying at the resort, there will be shuttles to transport you to and from the wedding venue, however, the shuttles will be leaving the resort at one scheduled time and returning to the resort at one scheduled time. If you wish to leave the wedding earlier, you will be responsible for getting a taxi or an Uber.

For those of you staying off the resort, you will be responsible for arranging transportation to and from the venue.

Will there be an open bar?

Absolutely!

Will food & drinks be served at the reception?

A resounding yes! Please come hungry (and thirsty!)

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Of course! We will also have a photographer who will be capturing the night, so no need to have your phone/camera on you all night.

Should I bring a gift?

In order to save on luggage space for both of us, we ask that you do not physically bring a gift to our wedding in Sayulita. Your presence is the best gift of all!

Hopefully, no one needs it, but just in case, it is good to know that the national emergency phone number in Mexico is still 911.

Transportation & Travel Questions

What airport should I fly into?

Puerto Vallarta (PVR) airport is the nearest airport to Sayulita. When you book your flights, be sure you fly into the "Puerto Vallarta International Airport", code PVR - Licenciado Gustavo Diaz Ordaz Intl.

If you're traveling from San Diego, consider flying from Tijuana (Volaris has good deals on direct flights to PVR). The Cross Border Xpress (CBX) provides an enclosed pedestrian skywalk bridge into the Tijuana Airport for passengers who cross the U.S./Mexico border as part of their trip. Click here for more Cross Border Xpress (CBX) information.

How should I book my flight?

Flights are not included with our room block and guests will be responsible for booking their own flights. Usually the best time to book a flight is 5-6 months prior to travel when all airlines have their schedules available. Click this link to access a must-read guide to booking international flights for helpful tips.

If you would like KP Travel Group to book your flights, there is a $50 per person ticketing fee.

Do I need a passport?

Yes! You must have a valid passport to travel to Mexico for ALL travelers.

In addition, make sure that your passport is not expired and will not expire within 6 months of your return date. Please double check to ensure your passport does not expire before August 10, 2025.

You can now renew your passport online. Be sure to check out the resource link below for all passport details. For more information regarding passports and entry requirements, please visit www.Travel.State.Gov.

How will I get from the airport to my accommodations?

If you have booked a room in our room block at the Iberostar (via Kathryn and our wedding website), then roundtrip airport transfers (the ride between the airport and resort) are a service included with your room reservation.

To confirm this service for you, please book your flight by December 6, 2024. Kathryn will send a form requesting your flight info a few months prior to travel. If we do not have your flight itinerary by this date, you will need to arrange and pay for your own transfers.

The transfers included will pick you up at the airport on the day we have you checking in at the resort and bring you back to the airport on the day we have you checking out.

If you are not staying in the Room Block at the Iberostar, you will be responsible for your own transportation. There are an abundance of taxi's at the airport, or you can walk across the pedestrian bridge to call an Uber.

Why Sayulita?

Why Sayulita?

When we began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to do something that was low-stress, fun, and allowed us to maximize quality time with our guests who live near and far.

While trying to decide where to get married and after an unfortunate hotel mishap in Puerto Vallarta, we stumbled upon this hidden town and felt it was just right. With lush jungles, great waves, tons of yoga, and 1$ cervezas we think you will love this designated “Pueblo Magico” just as much as we do. We can’t wait to make awesome memories with all of you there!

Traveling to new places has been a huge part of our relationship and has allowed us to create some of our favorite moments together. We are SO excited to celebrate our commitment to each other in paradise and to enjoy a fun, relaxing vacation with our family and friends.

Why is the room block at a resort that is 20 minutes away from the wedding and reception venue?

Sayulita doesn’t have any large resorts (sorry!), which is part of the town's charm. But we recognize not all of our guests are as comfortable as traveling as others. So in an effort to ensure everyone is comfortable, we booked the Room Block at the Iberostar Selection Playa Mita All-Inclusive Resort. It is located in the closest resort town, Punta Mita, which is approx. 20 minutes away from Sayulita.

Room Block & Accomodation Questions

Do you have a hotel room block for guests?

Yes! We are staying at the Iberostar Selection Playa Mita in the Punta Mita resort town. This is an all-inclusive resort so the room price includes all food and drink! We would love it if you stayed at the same resort as us. They also gave us a great rate for our guests. Go to the Room Block tab to find out more information and how to book.

Our hotel shuttle to/from the wedding venue in Sayulita will be available for those staying at this resort.

We have pre-reserved rooms for the travel window of February 6 thru February 11, 2025. You may arrive and depart when you'd like, but please note that the resort requires a 3-night minimum stay.

Can I share a room with others?
Yes! Due to the hotel being an all inclusive, rooms are charged on a per person basis, but you're more than welcome to share if you'd like. Also, if you're coming solo and would like to potentially be paired up with someone, let Jessie (317) 445-9145 or Kyle (317) 691-0267 know and we can help you!

When should we arrive?
We will be hosting a welcome party on the evening of Friday, February 7th. Please join us by Friday, February 7th to ensure ample time together!

More details to come soon.

How long should I stay?

We understand that not everyone will be able to join us for the entire week but even a long weekend in Sayulita is well worth the travel. We have the room block reserved from February 6th through February 11th. You are welcome to stay shorter or longer than that date range. Reach out to Kathryn and she can assist you in your reservation process.

What if I want a room type at the Iberostar that is not available in the room block?

If you need a different room than what is provided with our room block, just fill out the booking form & make a note in the special request box. Kathryn will get a rate for the room you want. However, Kathryn will need your exact travel dates to request that info.

To browse alternative room types available at the Iberostar, click here.

Do I have to stay at the Iberostar?

While you are not required to stay at the Iberostar, we highly recommend it, as it is where the bride and groom will be staying and where most of our wedding activities will take place.

If you prefer to stay elsewhere, that’s completely fine! However, please note that transportation to and from the airport, as well as shuttle services to and from the wedding & reception will only be provided for guests who are staying at the Iberostar.

What if I miss the deadline?

Missed the deadline? That's ok, it happens. Please still book your room here and we will work on confirming the room for you. Inventory and group rates will be subject to availability.

Am I able to attend events if I do not stay at the Iberostar?

If an all-inclusive resort isn’t your preference and you choose to stay at another location, you may still be able to join us for the welcome events by obtaining a day pass to the Iberostar. Please be aware that the availability and pricing of these day passes can fluctuate, but on average are approximately $100 per person per day.

To obtain a daypass you can contact the Iberostar Selection Playa Mita Resort directly or use resortpass.com.
