FAQ

Will transportation be provided?

Since most of our guest list is local to Chicago and there is a short pause after the ceremony, there will not be transportation provided for guests.  Most of our out-of-town guests are also staying at separate locations throughout the city, so we don't have a set location where the majority of people will be at any given time. Our best recommendation is to take advantage of the many transportation options the city has to offer such as Ubers, Lyfts, or regular taxis.

Is there parking available at St. Michael's?

Yes, there is a parking lot as well as street parking available at the church.

Is there parking available at Chicago Illuminating Company?

Yes, we will provide valet parking, however, the lot has limited spots.  We recommend our guests use Uber, Lyft, or regular taxis if they are able.  If you are planning on driving to the venue, please contact Kristina or Matt if you haven't already done so to ensure all goes smoothly.

Should I give myself extra time for travel on Saturday?

Yes!! It is wedding season in Chicago, so there will most likely be heavier than normal traffic in the city.  Please keep that in mind when you are traveling to the church and reception venue.  We recommend giving yourself 20-30 extra minutes of buffer room between locations.

What should we do between the ceremony and reception?

There will be a short pause in between the ceremony and reception while the wedding party takes photos. Please see the list of things to do below.  NOTE: Traffic is very heavy in Chicago on Saturdays.  Please keep this in mind while making your plans.

What type of precautions is the venue taking for Covid-19?

Chicago Illuminating Company is up-to-date and exceeding CDC guidelines with their top-of-the-line air filtration systems and sanitation. CIC is also an open-air venue.  Dinner will be outdoors and their large french doors will be open throughout the evening.

What is the dress code?

Black tie optional - We know some of our guests want to look their best in tuxes and gowns, however, they are not required! We want you to feel comfortable.

Can I take photos?

Yes, but not during the ceremony.  Take as many photos as you'd like throughout the night with the exception of the ceremony. We will have photographers there to capture the moment and don't want any phones to go off during the Mass.

Be sure to tag #tildeathdousparks in your photos so that we can see!
